We booked our trip last minute to go to Kings Island (12 minutes from this hotel) and naturally read as much as we can prior to booking. We have stayed at Holiday Inn Express before and have not had an unpleasant experience yet. We arrived mid-day and Joe the front desk clerk was polite efficient and courteous. Our room was very clean and you could tell the hotel had been re-done in the last year or so. The pool area was excellent and my six year old daughter and we had the place practically to ourselves. The hotel was busy with many a corporate traveler but quiet and restful all the time. Maid service did an excellent job and the breakfast was varied and quite satisfying. Staff (especially Joe) were fantastic. There are several hotels to choose from in the area but we would go back to this one and probably will based on the enjoyable time we had. Definitely a hidden gem!

This hotel is fantastic. On a cold winter night i walked in to find a very friendly staff. I was given a bottle of water and directed to my room. It was PERFECT! It was equipped with a microwave fridge and a flat HDTV! The room was already warm and cozy when i got there.
The staff made sure my every need was met. Including suggesting nice resturants in the area (There are plenty). Its Just Outside of the city and not far from major highways. Everyone knows the staff can make or break even the nicest hotels. The staff here was nothing short of AMAZING. A smiling face can go a long way after a long day of meetings. They tried hard to go above and beyond and they achieved their goal. I was blown away!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express as it was close to Cincinnati and Newport, Ky for the family activities that we wanted to do (2 year old, and 4 month old). We got to our room later in the evening and after settling in I killed a couple of ants around the bed before I realized there were plenty of them crawling on the floor and on the bed. Our room had two queen beds and we were able to fit the crib along side of the bed. When I informed the desk, they gave us a new room. The new room seemed smaller (as the cribe didn't fit along side the bed any longer). They charged us the same for the room and told us they were the same size. Now I know things happen (like ants), and I guess I expected an apology or even a partial refund. I don't know what hotel policy is in an instance like that, but I really didn't like how it was handled. They place seemed new and we went based on the reviews on Tripadvisor. Maybe we were just unlucky.

I travel several times to Cincinnati and have stayed here quite a bit. This time my son and I came down for a Reds game and we were "floored". I could tell from the moment we walked in that the hotel had gone through renovations. The rooms have the "wow" factor!! Flat screen tv's, refriderators, microwaves and a HUGE room. Very nice!!
