This was by far the most disgusting "hotel" I've ever stayed in. It doesn't even qualify as a hotel, its a motel. When my daughter and I first got to the room, it looked as though someone had gone on a rampage and ripped all the fixtures off the wall. When someone "repaired" it all, they slapped some spackel over the holes and screwed all the fixtures back in different spots, so the whole room was full of huge spackel spots. Not to mention everything was grossly crooked, the clothes rack, the mirror, and the lamps on the wall were all extremely crooked. It looked as though we were staying in Willy Wonka's motel room. Then, the drain stopper was stuck down in the sink, and nothing would drain. When I pulled up on the metal rod to open it, the whole metal rod came up a good 5 inches. I looked underneath the sink, and the mechanism had been duct taped together and was just hanging underneath the sink. I had to manually put the mechanism back together and push it up from underneath to get the drain to open. There was black mold all over the bathroom walls. There appeared to have been an enormous leak behind the toilet wall at one time, because it was disgusting and covered with, again, tons of spackel to try to hide the mess. The light to the bathroom didn't come on for about 30 seconds after you flip the switch, but it does turn the fan on also, which comes on immediately. That scared my daughter half to death which promted her to immediately flip it off and made us search for a switch to turn on the light for a good 10 minutes before we figured out you have to stand there and wait for the light to come on. Which also meant you couldn't have a night light on, because the fan and light were on one switch and the fan sounded like a freight train. The shampoo bottle was missing about 1/4 of it's shampoo (which had obviously been left there since it's user had vacated) and the label had been half worn off, it was so old. The paper pad next to the phone was wrinkled and brown, like people had sat different glasses on it and left rings. The water barely came out of the faucet in the sink, and what did come out came out about 2 cm. away from the back of the sink bowl so you couldn't even get your hands under the water and it sprayed out at about a 45 degree angle to the right. The tub had been rigged so that the faucet was completely bypassed. When you turn the water on, it comes out of the shower head. So anyone with children cannot bathe their kids, you have no choice but to shove them under a shower. And to top it off, I got all of these ammenities for $100 a night! Lucky me. This room was beyond disgusting. Your corporation should be ashamed to have your name on this place. I wouldn't stay at another Howard Johnson if Howard Johnson himself paid me to stay.
