I reserved a king room. Upon check-in, I received two double beds. The hotel blamed Orbitz saying that was on the reservation they transmitted to them. I looked at my account online and confirmed that I did reserve a king bed. I called Orbitz, and they also confirmed this. Orbitz called the hotel to work it out and then called me back. Even Orbitz was startled at the brutally blunt way they handled the situation. The hotel basically said "take it or leave it" and gave me a set amount of time to vacate the room in order to receive a full refund. I could deal with the double room, but I was upset over the very hateful way they handled the situation and didn't accept blame for it. Given it was a summer weekend in a resort town with no where else I could go, I unfortunately had to stay there.
To add insult to injury, the motel put me on a calling list without my permission. I am now getting calls for free stays at resorts. I'm on the "do not call" list, and I really didn't appreciate this.
The first room we were given had broken glass littered in front of the room. Upon exchanging the room, the room was OK. The place is dated. Obviously, the hotel has seen better times. The nice thing is that the price is reasonable, the room is clean (although a bit damp), and it is right outside the park.
