We reserved a room for six, which is what we got, very crowded though. That part was not the issue. We paid $85 per night so $170 for both nights. It is nothing as it looks on the site and if you have any anxiety issues over cleanliness don't even go to this hotel. Although the staff was super nice and very accommodating, we could not stay here. We left, paid more but finally after about 5 more hotels found one that met my anxiety standards. I am not a complete clean freak, but I took one of their rags and wiped down the pictures, lamps and desks and that is when I decided I could not be there, they were filthy with dust and not sure what was on the frames. The bedding was stained, sheets as well as covers. The mattresses, of course I checked for bed bugs, I DID NOT find any bugs, don't want to mislead you, however, there was some staining, could have been coffee or drink spills, not sure but was just uncomfortable with the cleanliness all the way round. Floors didn't appear to be swept well, found 1/2 eaten skittle in corner of bed/wall. It is almost like they just clean the open surface. I hate giving bad ratings, as I don't feel it is necessarily the staffs fault, they work with what is given them. But I would have expected more from Howard Johnson. They need some serious updating. Again, the staff was very nice and very accommodating, I didn't blame them for anything. I still have not received reimbursement but it has only been a few days and it was on a credit card, I feel sure they will take care of us. I know they rent these rooms out over and over again, so they won't be perfect, but this room was rediculously dirty in my opinion. The girls didn't even want to stay, 12 & 13. READ reviews first and another must is that you see the room before you pay for the entire stay, I missed doing that which I should have done. Hope this is helpful not meaning to be hurtful.
