I have stayed at this hotel on business in the past with no issues. It's right next door to a Fairfield Inn. Just to clarify where I'm coming from - I've been a Hilton Honors member for over 10 years with Diamond status 4 out of those year. I could have easily have chosen Fairfield every time I go to Sandusky, but I prefer Hilton properties overall, so I make it a point to book the Hampton. This trip had been booked an confirmed a week before the trip. I'm not picky about rooms, I know ALL the rooms at the Hamptom are good.
I ran into bad weather on the flight over the Cleveland this particular trip, and I knew I was going to end up arriving at the Hamptom very late at night, so I gave them a call just to be sure I would still have a room when I arrived at 2am.
I was informed they were actually overbooked, so they moved me to the La Quinta Inn down the street! There were some guests that were supposed to check out that day, but decided to stay another night, so they kicked me out of the Hampton.
First of all - La Quinta, really? It's not even a Hilton property. This is how they treat people who choose this property not because of the cost, but because they know they get quality stays at Hilton properties. This is how they treat people who are frequent guests, who pick them over the equally quality driven Fairfield Inn next door.
You can bet I'll never stay there again, it's the Fairfield for every upcoming business trip to the area. You just lost a loyal customer.
