I gave this hotel a 4 star rating as I consider it "Very Good" for the PRICE. It's definitely not a Marriott or Crowne Plaza. We were just passing through and didn't want to spend a lot for a few hours' sleep.
I was a bit leery of booking this hotel as I wasn't familiar with the name nor area, but I saw enough decent reviews to try it. We checked in very late with no issues and the pricing was accurate. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The outside of the hotel is nothing fancy, very basic and old, yet still felt safe. Our room had TWO doors to it, one to the parking lot and one to an interior corridor. You could only enter the room through the interior, but could exit through both.
The room was surprisingly spacious and clean with one queen bed. It had a work desk and chair, drawers, flat screen TV, fridge and microwave. The overall decor is older, but for the price, it can't be beat. The bathroom was clean, had decent size towels (for a budget hotel) with bar soaps and a packet of shampoo as amenities. The water got hot very quick, so no problems with showers.
The downside to this room was the bed. It was very saggy, extremely hard and squeaky if you moved at all. The pillows were very flat, leaving no support for the head or neck. However, the blankets and comforter were very soft and clean and NO bed bugs. :) The property was very quiet, so after trying to get comfy on the hard bed, we slept until early morning when we found the walls were VERY thin. We could hear someone taking a shower as if they were in our room, it was quite loud.
The free continental breakfast consisted of coffee, muffins and danishes. The location was near the highway close to a few places to eat. (The Denny's was great with friendly staff.) It was only 5-8 minutes to the Zoo and Fifth Third Field.
Check out was VERY quick as you pay when you check-in.
