My wife and I stayed here during our trip to the Lake Erie islands. As we had no intention of using our hotel for anything except a place to sleep, this place was perfect. It certainly offered nothing above that.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of town, and is not walking distance to the Jet Express ferry. They do offer a shuttle service, but it doesn't start running until 3 PM. So, we ended up paying $6 at a long term parking lot.

The lobby is dated and basic. The decor focused on mirrors, as if I was trapped in the 70's. Maybe they were trying to make the room look bigger? The breakfast area was cramped, and offered little beyond breads and cereals.

The room wasn't much different. It was also dated and small, but functional. I got a decent night's sleep, which is what I wanted, but this is type of hotel I won't remember staying at down the road.

I spent 4 nights here, traveling with my large breed dog. We had a wonderful time. The room was clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was close to a very nice small park and beach...only a 10 minute walk away, so we were able to take in beautiful lake sunsets each evening. It is located on the main highway to all the big shopping centers and made it very easy to drive to the ferry dock and the animal safari...not to mention the lighthouse at Marblehead. We would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone traveling to the area. If you are wanting a mint on your pillow, then stay at a 4 star place, but if you want a nice, clean place to stay, stay here. Plus if you are like me and want to take your 4 legged family member with you...you can't beat this place. Most places only allow small dogs, if any, but here there was no limit and my sweet well-behaved 120 lb. dog was welcome too. It made for a much more relaxing time for me being able to have him there.

I want to start off first of all and say that Carolyn at the front desk was very helpful! All of the staff was very polite and friendly. We stayed at this hotel for my bachlorette party on September 5th.
We arrived about 30 mins after check in time and only one of our rooms was ready. Wich was ok since we had the other one to put all our stuff in.Then as we asked for a luggage cart we were told that our rooms were up 2 flights of stairs and there wasn't an elevator. Ok so we sucked it up and made a few trips up. When we walked into the room the first thing you noticed was that it was sweltering hot! The next was the overwhelming musty smell. The rooms were clean enough. You couldn't open the window to air it out because there were no screens!
The beds and pillows were a little too firm for most of out liking, but we managed.
Continental breakfast was kind of scary. The cream cheese was gritty. That discouraged me from trying much more besides the orange juice.
The main thing I was dissapointd about was the supposed "shuttle". We were assured multiple times that the shuttle was on its way to take us to the ferry. It never came. As a matter of fact I'm not even sure it exists. We ended up missing our ferry and having to wait 45mins for the next one. And we had to pay for a taxi!
I give them the benifit of the doubt because it was labor day weekend and quite busy.
We had a great time despite the small glitiches but I definately would not stay there again.

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay at Port Clinton's Super 8. We stayed for only one night, but would be willing to go back to this Super 8 and stay again. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel. When we walked into the front lobby, it smelled very fresh and all of the surfaces (tables, windows, etc.) were shiny. Our room was very clean, also-- The bathroom was spotless! Also, as other reviewers have said, this Super 8 is very quiet. The motel is located right next to a restaurant, but we did not hear any noise from the restaurant nor from the roads outside or other rooms.

A breakfast bar is offered, but it is small. There was milk, orange juice, apple juice, and coffee along with two types of cereal, bagels, English muffins, bread, some small doughnuts, instant oatmeal, and boiled eggs.

There was free wi-fi at this motel, but no community computer. I would suggest planning ahead and bringing a laptop if you are going to need the internet.
