“Very comfortable location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

We have had multiple stays at this hotel and have always found it to be clean, comfortable, and safe for our family. Suite was roomy and kitchen well stocked with refrigerator, stove top, and even a small dishwasher. Breakfast is comparable to other free breakfasts with multiple choices and nice breakfast room/lobby area. Staff was very pleasant. And, of course, Marriott beds!

“Another franchise disaster”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2011

I recently stayed 3 nights at this Marriott property because there was nothing else within 15 miles of the location for my business trip. And, I am a Marriott Rewards platinum point monger. However, if I ever have to come to this area again (hope not), this location of the Marriott RI chain will never see my plastic again. At one time, I had mistakely thought that the Marriott corporation had some sort of minimum standards that all locations, owned or franchised, must meet. For this location, the business traveler like myself must assume that the recession (alien invasion of Youngstown?) has caused some type of creepy exception. This hotel is the smallest, most ill-kept, worn-out, marginally staffed, and generally uncomfortable cardboard box of a Marriott hotel in which I have stayed in over 25 years of business travel. It has got to be one of the oldest looking Residence Inns I have yet encountered. It must have missed the last 2 interior makovers that most of the rest of the chain locations have completed. Carpeting in the common areas is just revolting. The "breakfast area" is so small, I felt like I had to drink my coffee and read the paper outside, just so someone else could have table space to eat. If you like a yoghurt in the morning, forget it here. Not happening. Munchie events in the evening? Good luck with that. Need help at the front desk? good luck with that too. I must have passed by the front desk at least 6 or 7 times over 3 days and never saw a soul on duty. Overall, the room itself is small, by RI standards, and needs new furniture, carpeting, and so on.When leaving my room, I discovered by accident that I literally had to pull the door with both hands (I weigh 170 pounds) to get it to lock shut. It looked like it was completely closed until you pushed on it and found that it was not really locked. Now that's creepy. Business Center. Yeah, that consists of a very small computer station right in the open corner of the breakfast area. Unbelievable. There are 5 other hotels in sight around this one. If you have to stay in this area, pick any one of them. It would have to be better than this embarrassment.

“Average”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2011

Upon checking in I discovered that Marriott Residence Inn would not used the credit card associated (on file) with my Reaward account. Strict policy demands presentation of the card, unless I failed to show up or cancel prior to 6p then, of course, the card would be charged for a days stay.

I do not recommend any Reward Member agreeing with this policy. Loyalty should breed loyalty. If Hilton, Hertz, National and many other businesses can appreciate returning customers by not demanding presentation of a card, surely Residence Inn can do so as well.

The stay was marginal at best meeting my most basic needs. Deferred maintenance was present in the malodors present in the carpeting. Great hotel if you are traveling with animals as several rooms indicated "pet inside." If you are allergic to pet hair-look elsewhere.

“Good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2010

That was very good stay. Very good food but service is slowly. I was in harry and had to wait for 10 min. I faced some problem with Internet as it was a bit slowly and I had a lot of work to finish. Rooms are clean but some things are broken. It is not very important but in any way hotel could repare it. There was some noise in one night but next nights were pefect. Coffee could be better. Bathroom is very good. Location is perfect.

“Comfortable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 April 2010

The room was nice and spacious. Loved the pillows. There are only 2 things this hotel should do. 1st put a blender in the kitchen. 2nd for the price to stay here complimentary items such as toothpaste weren't available. (I forgot my toothpaste). Even the Holiday Inn offers toothpaste. I was here for 2 weeks. Food wasn't bad. The 2nd week they didn't switch any of the items up. Wouldv'e been nice to have variety. They has social gathering a few nights which was a nice touch.

Business center was 1 computer by the lobby. Best to bring a laptop and work from your room.

Exercise room - Nothing special. 3 pieces of older equipment.
