October in Northern OH.
Checked in at about 10pm, to find the room was 67 degrees with cold air blowing out the "heater". Apparently the system is on a motion detector, and doesn't start until the customer shows up. That's optimistic in OH's climate.
At desk clerk's instruction, went thru a reset procedure with the heater, which resulted in it stopping and staying non-functional for about 5 mins. Hung around waiting for heat; by 10:30 the room temp was down to 65. Desk clerk had me check out other rooms, which seemed OK. By the time I got back to our original room, it had warmed up to our desired 72, and I decided not to switch. Big mistake. After a few minutes of warmth, the system stopped, and then the cold air started blowing again. It's 11pm, my husband is in his PJs, and we don't want to move. Talked to the desk clerk again: she is very polite and says all the right things to the unhappy guest, but her only option seems to be moving us.
I don't believe this is LQ's acceptable level of quality, but we seem to be stuck. Pile on the blankets!
BTW, when I asked for the ice machine...I'm not trying to be funny...I was sent to the 2nd floor. There the ice machine had a big "out of order" poster on it. So, I took the ice that came out, and asked the desk clerk about the sign. She suggested that if I found black specks in the ice, I should throw it away and go to the ice machine on 3. Never mind!
