There was something very special about this B&B. Joe and Susan are pretty mild-mannered (like their beautiful and mellow dog) and very good people. I found them helpful and pleasant without being overbearing. (In some B&Bs, you feel obliged to socialize with the hosts).
A quick drive from downtown Oberlin, their home feels historic but certainly not old. The bedding is top-notch, the rooms are tastefully decorated in Civil War era memorabilia, and the bathrooms are modern. The breakfasts are gourmet (for example, fresh herbs surrounding baked quiche and meats, fruit bowls with whipped cream, good strong coffee), with the hosts helpful without being overbearing. We only touched the surface, however, because there’s a pool and Asian Spa we didn’t use. The pre-stocked refrigerators were also a nice touch.
I hope they end up winning the Ohio B & B of the Year award. Highly recommended!
