We visit family in the NP area 2-3 times a year. This is a wonderful place to stay! Both Sabrina and Mandy make us feel more than welcome. We enjoy The Pub which is a quaint, yet fun place to spend the evening. Our children love the pool area as it is spacious and fun. The rooms are always very clean and inviting! There is no other choice in our opinion in the area!

This is a family run chain that tries to do the little things better than the big chains. Normally we prefer Hamptons and Hiltons but tried the Schoenbrunn Inn only because the Hampton's non-smoking rooms were booked. We were not disappointed. It would be our first choice in New Philadelphia again.

It has a cozy bar, close to McDonalds and I77. Food and beverage are readily availabeI it's the gateway to Amish and Ohio appalachia , did I mention the cozy bar. Clean, reasonably secure place in a great location. Staffing is friendly and helpful they have a good understanding of the area. The pool is warm and the travelers have always been friendly. I have stayed there more than 10 times in the last 3 years and their consistency is great and reliability is comforting. We no longer check other lodging since Schoenbrunn has what we are looking for in a rural escape.

Basics are important. This hotel covers the basics.

The staff is friendly, courteous and efficient. The hotel interior is bright and cheerful, the parking lot is clean and well lit.

A hot breakfast buffet is included in the price of the room. A daily change in the hot food options would have been nice. They provided scrambled egg patties and sausage patties every day of my 5-day stay, but I was able to vary my breakfasts with bagels and cream cheese, yogurt, cereal, or waffles.

Nothing depresses me more when I arrive at a hotel than finding that my room and bathroom (and the rest of the hotel & premises) really are not clean. I was very happy to find that the Schoenbrunn was very clean -- the room, the bathroom, the a.c. & heating unit (no musty or sour smells), the pub/breakfast bar, the lobby -- all very nicely kept.

A nice perc -- they offer coffee, juice and fruit in the lobby all day long. Which is nice to come back to after a day's work.

New Phila. and Dover are small towns, so Schoenbrunn Inn is close to everything. It's just off the interstate which makes the hotel easy to find. The only downside (a minor one) is it's in the middle of the commercial strip, so not the most scenic spot. But that's true of most of the hotels motels there. And you don't have to go far for pretty scenery, if needed.
