they advertise "coffee makers in all rooms"....maybe they should consider supplying coffee, too. i could not get any coffee from them...they "ran out" early in the week.
the pillows on our bed were so thin, that even doubling them up would not help. could i get more from the front desk? no, they were expecting a convention the next night and could not "borrow" from another room. several of my friends checked in the next night an actually had NO PILLOWS in their room at all.
the non-smoking room reeked of smoke, the bed linens and bedspread, threadbare chair and peeling wallpaper were all discolored from nicotine stains.
a "no smoking" room only exists if the people in the room next to yours do not spend their entire stay in their bathroom smoking. the shower stalls in the bathroom (original bathroom cut in half, no bath tub, only a small shower) have a shared vent in the ceiling. so when your neighbors spend their time complaining about how they couldn't get a smoking room so they are forced to smoke in the bathroom, this causes YOUR room to fill with smoke and their complaints.....disgusting!
could the hotel do anything about the smoking neighbors? they said they would waive the $500 charge for the "smoking in a non-smoking room" charge for OUR room. NICE. said they couldn't PROVE the neighbors were smoking and refused to check, even by visiting our room.
we were awakened at 2:30 in the morning with the maid vacuuming the room next to ours, i had to get dressed and go to the next room and demand that she stop. i'm not making this up, you can't make stuff like this up.
don't eat at the hotel buffet, one of my friends spent the day of the conference in bed from food poisoning. the hamburgers and roast beef (it's certainly not PRIME rib, more like CHOICE rib...) leave a lot to be desired.
and the "free breakfast" in the morning consists of left-over congealed cinnamon bread from the dining room the night before.
don't be tempted by the cheap price of this hotel unless you are willing to forgo a lot of luxuries in the your hotel stay, like pillows, coffee, a non-smoking room, a heater that works, prompt maid service, food that won't poison you.....the list goes on.
stay anywhere but here.
