I've spent about a dozen nights in the Manchester Inn in the last year. It hasn't been perfect every time, but I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. First the bad news: rooms are a little outdated, restaurant is so pink you'd want to put on your sunglasses, entrance from the parking lot always has a weird "steam table" smell, the location (downtown) is in desperate need of revitalization. The good news: the staff is wonderful... attentive and friendly. The hotel has a lot of pleasant architectural features and is set along a little park, very nice for an evening walk. There are cookies when you check in, though really there ought to be cookies every night. Prices are always very reasonable, even for the suites. They love my Chesapeake Bay Retriever and remember him on each visit.... in Ohio hotels that even accept dogs are a rarity, so this feature is very important to me as much of my travel is for dog shows. The staff works very hard to make every stay a pleasant one. Independent hotels like the Manchester are deserving of our support and patronage. I'm looking forward to my next stay there.
