One of my friends was staying at Rodeway for about a month and suggested it to me and my pregnant girlfriend. He was paying $152/wk with a refrigerator and microwave and breakfast . At that time the hotel didn't seem that bad for that price. When we checked in the rate raised to $162/wk. We requested the fridge and microwave and they didn't have one available until two weeks later. When they were finally available we were told it was $20 extra/wk. even though our friends was free of charge. Our room smelled horrible, it was dark and gloomy even during the day, spiders in every corner, dirty windows, the telephone didn't work, and the heat lamp/fan didn't work in the bathroom. Our room felt damp and uncomfortable. I left a hat on the floor one night and it is still soaked from the moisture inside the room after a week. The floor feels damp and moldy. The air conditioner is noisy and so are the surrounding rooms due to the thin walls and unsealed doors. My friend's air conditioner didn't work. The beds and pillows are hard and stiff. You can buy melted candy bars out of vending machines for 70cents or a can of pop for a whole dollar. laundry cost 4 dollars a load. We have had to constantly ask for housekeeping and only received it once during 3 weeks when were supposed to get it once/wk. We were recently told the "free" continental breakfast isn't free for us and it is actually another $20/week. that would be 20bucks for cereal, nasty mini donuts, wet muffins and dry bagels. I want to know what kind of greedy people wont feed their customers, especially a young pregnant girl a bowl of cereal because they don't have 20 dollars. The employees do NOT give a crap about anyone. they are lazy and uncaring. There is only one employee that is friendly and willing to at least try to help his guest feel comfortable. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The only reason we are there is because we have no choice.
