We chose this motel while going to a dog show in Ohio.

At the time I booked it online it seemed like a great deal - $41.63/night. The desk clerk was nice enough however we had to change rooms before we even got into the first room; the batteries were dead on the door, so they switched our room. We were told it was one of the "nicer" ones.

Where to begin - the smell of cheap cleanser was so overpowering we got some Febreeze to get rid of the smell. Ironically however and despite the cleanser smell the room had not been cleaned and was gross; I used anti-bacterial wipes on all the surfaces (the table, the bathroom counter top, the common room counter top, the night table) which had glass marks, sticky spots and dirt on them.

There was still a bar of soap from the previous occupant in the shower. We changed our own sheets and if I had had a mop and bucket I would have washed the laminate flooring myself. When I pulled the night table out, there was garbage and dead flies underneath it.

The fridge didn't close properly and the microwave was filthy. After opening it we didn't go near it, it was so gross.

The phone was not operational and in fact for the three nights we stayed there, we were promised that it would be fixed. It wasn't. The internet was spotty at best so we were forced to use our cell phone (expensive from the US to Canada) in order to stay in touch with our son.

We had prepaid for the room and initially when we were told that the situation would be rectified we believed them. Unfamiliar with the area and at the dog show from early in the morning until later in the evening we stayed three nights more than we should have.

We did get a refund for the remaining night we were supposed to stay. The desk clerk did say that they were having trouble finding housekeeping staff that would stay however, I would think that it would be the manager's responsibility to make sure that the rooms they let out are clean.

It still gives me the heebie geebies to think we stayed in this room. Never again. Absolutely disgusting!

1st off it was trashy on the outside then they gave us someone elses room we walk in an their suitcases were all in the room then we told them about it and they gave us another room where the paint was chipped off the walls and smelled like some alcoholic just stayed there for a year. I was fed up asked for my refund and got the hell outta there and went to a different place. Horrible horrible place don't waste your time and money.

Travelers BEWARE this motel 6 is without a doubt the absolute WORST hotel/motel I've stayed in some 30 plus years of traveling the US..a complete and total [--], I'd recommend sleeping in your car b/4 staying in this dump!!

*F E A S* in the beds, mud everywhere, and our "non smoking" room was reeking of cigarrette smoke. Noisey, dimly lit and downright S C A R Y. This motel the is a party den for the local teens, and they were going up and down the stairs all night. I re-parked our car by the office, just in case. It was that sort of place. Oh well, we were so tired and what can you expect for $39.99 a night, anyway, right? The next morning I woke up intensely itching with little bites.
If you are just passing through, want a cheap room, and don't care about bringing your own shampoo, consider the true cost: Our $39.99 mistake included getting the dog bathed and groomed at the local Petsmart, our clothes cleaned, the lugage sprayed, and the dog bedding fumigated before we reached our destination, a funeral - a day late.
The management as well as the customer service people offered an appology and a "free" night at any Motel 6. Today the dog has diarrhea, probably from the noxious chemicals we were forced to use in order not to contaminate our car, or our host's home. I would not consider a stay in another Motel 6, ever.
