“Nice, Simple Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2009

My aunt, uncle, cousin and I stayed at this hotel on the way back from University of Michigan game. This hotel was great for a quick stop and had all the amenities that we needed. We weren't looking for anything much, just simple. Easy and fast check-in. Great breakfast buffet. If they we out of anything at breakfast, the staff would already be aware and get more out asap. Would recommend.

“Attractive Accommodations in Lancaster”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2009

We had a good stay in a very clean room with only a few minor maintenance issues, nothing of which would preclude us from staying here again. Little touches are nice - room includes microwave and mini-fridge, the shower head is as fantastic as their in-room advertisement suggests (it tells you how to go about buying one), and two sets of shades allow you to filter sunlight to your own taste. The front desk was always cordial and the breakfast room was spacious enough to turn into the default community room for the group of us staying here for a wedding.

Breakfast is solid - I don't really care for their coffee, but the cinnamon rolls are tasty, and there is a spread of pastries, eggs in the form of scrambled or pre-made omelet, cereal, yogurt and fruit. While not everything is successful (I had some issues with the bacon), it's a good spread.

I did utilize the fitness room. It included a bike, treadmill and elliptical machine, of which just the first two were operating.

This is in a good location to walk to a few services and restaurants - a mid-sized mall is just down the street and there is a very good mini-golf facility nearby as well, if you're looking to kill some time. Definitely spend time walking around central Lancaster (only minutes away by car) and checking out the Sherman house.

“Disappointed as a Travel Agent”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2008

I just booked two rooms for 5 nights at this hotel for my clients that were working on an out of state project. They arrive after a 12 hour drive and long day of work to find out the water has been shut off and they are unsure of when it will be back on. They get to their room to wait out the water issue and the TV didn’t work. They had to call the main desk and finally someone came to reprogram their TV.

As their travel agent I called the front desk to speak with some and the only response was that they don't know when the water would be back on, that it could be a couple of hours and the batteries must have been dead in the remote. The woman also stated that she couldn’t give them compensation because they booked with a travel agent. For as many nights that are booked, I do believe there are other routes of compensation such as a room upgrade, a free night’s stay at a Holiday Inn or meal vouchers. As a travel agent I found the customer service to be very unacceptable and disappointing.

They stayed at the hotel across the street on their last stay at the Baymont Inn that had great customer service, a whirl pool (Holiday Inn does not have one) and the manager even agreed to give them a discount on the next visit (and yes, me, a travel agent book it as well and yet the Baymont agreed to give them a comp.) They just wanted to try the Holiday Inn expecting maybe a better stay since it cost a little more...NOW they wish they had stayed at the Baymont!!!!

“great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2007

Great hotel, We were with a group, 5 rooms total. The hotel staff made sure our rooms were together and on the first floor. The rooms and baths were very clean .The breakfast buffet was great, hot bacon and sausage gravy and lots to pick from, very clean and well stocked. We used the lobby/breakfast room in the evenings for games and TV. Pool area was nice, no hot tub. Good location, lots of restaurant choices and a large mall.Check out the covered bridges in the area.

“great breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2007

Stayed at this hotel while visiting relatives in Millersport. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The biggest surprise was the variety of the breakfast. Hot and cold cereal, bacon, omelets, and a lot more. My only complaint would be that the driving instructions on Holiday Inn's website were old and didn't reflect some changes in the highways. That has since been fixed . I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone.
