“Best: table cloths, worst: stinky non-smoke room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2008

As German tourists we stayed there for three nights because of the reasonable price. We liked to check in early during the morning. Our non-smoke room was so stinky, that we thought of changing it. We let fresh air through the open door for half an hour every day. So it became better. The way to our room was not clean. Cigarette butts lay in front of our room. The room was quite okay. I gave a note to the front desk that the door stopper was torn out of the wall, and that there were dried coffee drops scattered all over the bathroom door, easily to be cleaned with a wet cloth if the room service would see it. Both was not regulated within our time.
The room staff sat outside our room one morning smoking so that the smoke went into our room.
The breakfast offered a surprise for us Germans: The hotel had table cloths in the breakfast room. We appreciated this very much, although the cloths were not ironed and some were cofee spotted. You should not expect too much! The breakfast was quite okay, although we Germans miss the daily fresh baked bread and buns very much. US hotels should use more coffee powder for their coffee so that it deserves the name and need not to be upgraded by own instand coffee!
If you are there just for sleeping, or one night, it is okay.

“Good for a Free Night”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2008

We stayed at the Quality Inn in Heath, Ohio, primarily due to being the closest motel in the area that we could use our free night points at. The motel appears to be older, possibly from the 1960s or 1970s, with some remodeling. It has 2 floors (outdoor entrances) with no elevator, with 2 buildings connected by a bridge on the 2nd floor.

The grounds in the rear of the motel seemed nice, but the front was not much to look at when you arrived. Our room had 2 double beds (I prefer queen size) and a small table with chairs. There was free wireless internet as well. The bathroom needed updated. We could actually hear people in another room while in the bathroom due to the cheap tile ceiling. We also had some bugs, but not too bad.

The outdoor swimming pool was not heated, as we about froze when using it, when the air temperature was close to 80F. The pool itself seemed old and somewhat in disrepair. This could use a good renovation as well.

The best part of the motel was the free breakfast in a former restaurant. I believe that this hotel may have previously been a Holiday Inn with a restaurant, from its appearance. The breakfast food was fairly good, including hot food.

From observing people at the motel, it appeared that many were not visitors like ourselves, but residents. As there were many young adults (late teens to 20's) hanging around like it was their home. Not sure on that, but that was my feeling.

For a low rate, especially a free night like ours, this motel is fine. But I would not pay over $60/night to stay here, compared to other motels/hotels that I have stayed at.

“Our regular lodging in Heath”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 April 2008

My husband and I make 2-3 trips a year to Newark, Ohio, and ever since we discovered the Quality Inn in Heath, that's where we stay. It is an older facility which has changed hands several times, but has been a Quality Inn for several years now. While it isn't exciting to look at from the outside, the rooms are clean, roomy, with a nice dressing area outside the bathroom; new bedding was added last year. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Breakfast varies. Sometimes it is simply a continental breakfast, but this year they added a self-serve buffet with scrambled eggs, home-style potatoes, french toast and pancakes. There rates are more reasonable than other facilities in the area. It's a good value and a clean, comfortable facility.

“Adequate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 July 2005

Stayed here July 6. At that time it had changed to a Quality Inn. Apparently this property has changed hands a couple of times (It looks like an old Holiday Inn). Like a pre-owned car, it shows some wear and tear. Our room was clean, but not spectacular. The deluxe continental breakfast used the word deluxe very loosely. It was adequate, but not deluxe. The pool was clean. You could tell some patchwork and repair had been done. The hot tub was covered under a tarp (being repaired?).

All in all it was worth what I paid ($49). If you're looking for some place fancy, look elsewhere. If you are looking for an adequate place to spend a night on the road, this will do it.
