My husband and I spent 2 nights here recently and were very impressed with the size and comfort of this unit. Two big comfy couches in the lounge and a table and chairs to seat 6. Laundry is available for gold coin use and they provide washing powder and fabric softener. Well equipped kitchen, milk for tea and coffee and big fluffy towels in the bathroom. Strahan accommodation is fairly expensive and Castaway represents excellent value.

Overall we were very happy with our stay here. The staff are very friendly and the location is great with an IGA, a bottleshop and the foreshore very close.
They have lots of movies to choose from and the kitchen is well equipped. There is a laundry you can use for a gold coin donation which was very handy for us.

On the negative side, we stayed in unit 1 which is closest to the road so we were woken every morning by traffic at around 6am. The main bed in that unit is not very comfortable and the bathroom is wheelchair friendly, which is great, but meant it had a horrid shower curtain that loved sticking to your legs.

The place is very family friendly.
Make sure you check our the mutton bird nesting area and local waterfall (where we saw a platypus!), reception should be able to give you the details.

Great location....close to supermarket and a short stroll to the water. Clean, spacious and well equipped apartments with helpful owners.

Clean and convenient location, very near to the town centre. Jim and Beverly offered good advices to us on how to spend time in Strahan. She is also thoughtful to offer VCD and games to our children for spending their time the night. The service apartment is very spacious and well-equipped for family holiday.
