We stayed in a one bed cabin which was well equipped with a lovely view of the Bay. We used it as an overnight stop after a day visiting Port Arthur (just minutes down the road). The staff are very friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was the best we had during our two weeks in Tasmania. Wished we'd stayed another night and had a chance to do some bushwalking and kayaking.

We stayed in a luxury one bed cabin overlooking the bay. From our balcony we could see the Isle of the Dead! This is a beautiful location and a great place to relax. The road entrance to the lodge is also the pickup point for Tasman Island Cruises, which is an absolute Must-Do adventure. I was disappointed by the limited selection at breakfast, though the view you get is stunning. Also, the water from the taps tasted unpleasant so we bought bottled water. Overall, I would recommend the lodge and would be happy staying again, though I would take my own food supplies. There is a fully fitted kitchen with utensils provided.

Remember the times you have said we should have stayed there another night. Stewarts Bay Lodge is one of those places. We stayed in deluxe one bedroom chalet and it was comfortable. The layout and quality of fittings is excellent and they have great pillows. We found the staff to be very helpful and gave us good advice. Around Port Arthur mobile and internet reception can be tricky but they have a hot spot in the restaurant/lounge area ( small charge) that you can use your laptop - its was a bonus. The restaurant has a good reputation which we found well earned. A small menu with fresh produce, plus a good wine list means that you should book early - we booked by email some days before so we could dine there.
If we are back that way we will stay a little longer next time.

I was organising a surprise birthday in the Port Arthur area and wanted somewhere to stay, Stewarts Bay Lodge was suggested. And it didn't disappoint. From the staff helping with arrangements, the restaurant, the 2 bedroom unit, and the surroundings, I will definitely stay there again. And with the Port Arthur Convict site basically next, it could be a nice walk there. Pity we couldn't stay longer, because it would be a great place to stay and just relax.
