This property has several cottages to choose from and we stayed at the Flint Hill cottage at the bottom of the property, overlooking the bush valley.
A similar cottage to Flint Hill is about 30 meters away parallel to the cottage but you can't see into the other cottage and vice-a-versa.
The cottage is open plan with a separate bathroom which has a spa bath and stand alone shower. It has a queen bed, a pot bellied stove, small sofa and chair, small dining suite and a kitchen (sans dishwasher). The locally crafted wooden furniture is beautiful and we sooo wanted to take the coffee table home with us! The veranda was a great spot for kicking back and reading the paper/a book or just checking out the wildlife.
The only problem with the open plan setting was the noise of the fridge, which we just ended up switching off.
Other than that, we pretty much had the entire place to ourselves and the bird feeder on the veranda was very popular with the local wildlife, including a fat, friendly possum who popped her little head over the awning on the first night we were there and who was happy to be hand-fed pieces of fruit. She did tend to make a large thump as she landed on the bird feeder though! Can't get more Australian than a brush tailed possum!
Other wildlife does include snakes on the walking paths, so be careful if you want to go for a bushwalk. We didn't see any around the cottage though.
This would also be a great place for two couples, one in each cottage. It's quite relaxing and peaceful and you really feel like you're in the bush.
