“What a lovely hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Having just returned from a LARGE family reunion this weekend (27th-29th Jan), I had to give my congratulations on a spectacular event. As we had overrun the whole place with our family, I felt sorry for thr poor staff at times having to deal with us all!

However, they did a fantastic job, catered to our every need with a smile and the whole experience was fantastic.

Location is great within 5 min walk of local amenities and extremely close to the town centre. Our room was perfect considering we were squeezing 4 peeople into it. While the room could get really warm at times, it was easily adjustable, so no complaints there. My room had a view right up the sea front which was lovely and the room itself was clean and well presented (I should know, I am an ex housekeeper!)

Dinners where lovely and breakfast was very good indeed catering to the more "picky" of our family!

I would definately stay again and congratulations to the team at the Beachcroft for being so fabulous!

Dear Madam,

Many thanks for taking the opportunity to leave a review on Trip Advisor for our hotel. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us.

Our team commented on what a pleasure it was to serve your party it was a great experience for all.

The housekeeper was pleased that an ex-professional had commented on the standards of cleanliness at our hotel.

“Hotel needs refurbishment, but with very nice breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I believe review for this place would be mixed and it depends what you're expecting I guess.
We've stayed for one night with my hubby.
We arrived late and in reception we were told if we want to have a dinner we need to book the table as "hotel was very quiet and they have minimum staff, however hotel unexpectedly is very busy!" We were tired as had long day, so decided to skip our dinner.
When we've arrived it was already dark, so we don't bother with the view and we were offered to upgrade to sea view (£12), but it was not important to us, however I'm glad we didn't... on the morning we heard sea!!! and it was looking to the sea ( as well as to the parking lot), so if you want sea view, I do not think so you will get better than this :)

Hotel is located in the residential area and it is nothing around, however it is on the walking path by the sea, which leads to the main Bognor Regis area. We had very lovely walk on the morning and we did not mind to stay a little bit away from the town, but if you after pubs and restaurants - it's probably won't be good for you.

Hotel needs serious update (makeover) and it reminds a little bit old country house with simple furniture, however room has everything you are after - coffee and tea making facilities, TV with 8 channels :)
It supposed to be a internet, but it wasn't working. However we did not bother to ask about it as we were so tired.
Bathroom was spacious with a shower and all toiletries were provided.

As I said hotel quiet warn, but quite clean. Saying that - we were a little bit shocked when we looked under the duvet - it was look like a big stain on the bed sheet in the centre of the bed. It looked like ....
I've gone downstairs and receptionist come to see this - however looking closely - it was very worn sheet - with thinning lining, but it was clean.
We were explained it need to be changed and she will pass message to house keeping, but I have asked for another one... she looked on my angrily, says she will see what she could do and to be fair we've got one about 10 minutes later!. Clean and new.
Bed was too soft for our liking, but I think it is just personal choice, otherwise we had a good sleep - was very quiet.

We were really pleasantly surprised by the breakfast - it was really good!
We had a vegetarian option and it was very tasty. We were quite late, probably the last one having breakfast, but our waiter was very polite and patient.

Check out ( as well as check in) took about 20s - very pleased with that.

It is a little bit shame as this hotel might be very posh and good , but it needs a serious investment for update, but otherwise it is very nice place to stay if you prefer do not be in the town, but still want to be on the water

Overall - worn, but clean hotel and as we've got this very cheap on groupon deal - we weren't expected anything amazing, so it does met our expectations. I would say good value for money.

HI,

Thank you for your recent feedback on Trip Advisor.

Firstly may I begin by thanking you for some of your comments. We are pleased that you enjoyed your breakfast and found our staff efficient and attentive. I am very proud of the team we have.

You commented on the hotels location and variety of activity in the area. We are, as stated a ten minute walk from Bognor Regis town centre. However we are situated in the parish of Felpham which is clearly identified on all our websites and marketing material.

I am sure you will be surprised to learn that there are in fact 12 eateries and 4 public houses in Felpham Village which is directly behind the hotel. We are pleased to employ local people with extensive knowledge of the local area. I am confident if asked one of our team would have been happy to provide you with the above information and directions.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused with the Wi-Fi in our property. Based on 2011 consumer feedback we have invested in a revised solution which is now fully live and functional.

We were pleased to hear that you enjoyed our complimentary room upgrade. This gave you the fantastic view. If I could remove the car park I would. Sadly this might upset a few guests!

As outlined on previous reviews we have undergone a substantial refurbishment on half the hotel bedrooms which is now complete.

You mention the hotel ‘might be very posh’ however we have no aspirations to be a four or five star property and would assume that these types of properties also carry a price tag to match their star grading and facilities. We aim to be a high quality, and above all friendly 3 star hotel.

I will indeed pass your comments back to our team for discussion. We hope that you will be able to find time to experience our hotel once again.

Yours Sincerely

“Enjoyable stay”

We have just returned from a one night stay. Impressions are very good. The hotel seems to have been refurbished. Room was very good with a large bed . We had a sea view room which cost extra. We did not have an evening meal but the menu looks good. Breakfast was good . The hotel has a small swimming pool and the location is superb being situated very close to the beach and walks along the coast line. Service was generally good . The one thing , all be it quite small, that was annoying was there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. You could purchase them from a machine at a cost of 1.50 but this is not the same. We like to make a drink before we go to bed and when we wake up therefore it was a pity that so much good was spoilt by such a small detail. Otherwise nice feel to the hotel.

Room Tip: Saeview appears to have a 12.00 supplement but worth it.

Hi,

Thank you for your recent comments on Trip Advisor.

I am pleased you were able to spot our recent refurbishment efforts in which we have spent considerable time and money. Mainly thanks to our own in house maintenance engineer.

We have just purchased brand new zip and link beds for the hotel which give guests the comfort of a 6'6" super king-size bed! We are pleased you enjoyed it.

Regarding Tea & Coffee. This is available in every room. However since our refurbishment we have made a decision to store the service trays out of sight. In your particular room I would imagine just to the left of the wardrobe, in order to free up desk space for business travelers. It is a requirement of a three star hotel to offer this service and you should expect this in any three star hotel across the country.

I would hope that had this been noticed, and based on your other comments the hotel would have scored 4/5?

We hope that you will find the time to visit us again one day, and look forward to welcoming you back.

Yours Sincerely

Stayed at the Beachcroft on 14th Jan 12. Was warmly welcomed by a friendly receptionist who couldn't do enough to help. Had a bit of bother getting the tv working, phoned down to reception to ask. Receptionist came straight up personally to ensure it was resolved. Hotel is situated right on the beach front and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a sea facing premium room. Room was clean, tidy and very cosy. Stayed for breakfast which was lovely. Couldn't fault anything. Well done Beachcroft, will definitely recommend :0)
