I have known this hotel for many years through business and can honestly say that Hannah and her staff are making it better and better. Still work to be done but from personal experience it's excellent value for money. My daughters and friends also stayed, and the rooms were comfortable and clean, hospitality great and most of the staff are brilliant. They hosted my mothers 90th party and the food, the service and quality was second to none, my mother was treated like royalty and that was on an evening when they had a wedding and hockey club occasion too. They even changed the menu at short notice to cater for people with special dietary requirements

what a bad hotel, staff who are poor trained or just do not care and management who are only around to make money

Check in

Took over 10 mins with no smile or thank you, was given a key on a piece of tatty string with a hand written number, got to the room which is a long walk only to find another guest in there. so back to the desk given a new room with no apology

Rooms

Dirty and tired even though its a 'refurbished' room. Beds Saggy, linen ripped, bathroom towels dirty and grey. TV only shows 5 stations and expensive PPV, no high speed internet connection in rooms either. Also expect a long walk down very seedy looking and cold corridors to get to the rooms


Restaurant

expensive and poor service, staff would rather talk to other guests and colleagues than actually serve other customers, food is very basic and the daily specials is also very poor. The hotel also seems to have regular guests who are loud and rude and very off putting

Again poor, payment was incorrect and had to wait while they sorted it out adding an extra 15 mins, again no apology, when asked to speak to manager was told that she was not down yet and was promised that she would call, 3 days and no call was received, also emailed and no response

If you happen to find your selves in cannock keep looking there is better hotels within a 15 minute drive who offer much more at the same sort of price

The Roman Way is very clean and tidy, the staff are very wonderful and very helpful and they couldnt of done anything more for me.I would most definatley recommend this hotel to friends, colleagues and family. The mangement staff were also very helpful and the recpetion team were very smart and welcoming and made it feel like home for me. The food was lovely and service was very good ( i would recommend the soup bread bowl) i have enjoyed my two month stay here and would definatley return.

recently had our wedding at the roman way hotel in cannock 12th feb the staff and hannah thompsett went well beyond their call of duty and put themselves out to make our special day run very smoothly from helping my new wife sort her dress to fetching the slightist thing for you and always with a smile on there face and a polite manner,
the meal service was outstanding and the meal all the guests enjoyed,thanks to hannah and her team for making our day special.
