Booked it online two days ahead - a great deal at £19.50 for the one night
No directions or map on the Travelodge email, just a postcode and an unclear address (eg A45), and if you have a silly built-in sat-nav that doesn't do postcodes you might have big probems finding the property
Staff friendly and helpful, hotel VERY tired and not very functional
Very difficult to find anything to eat nearby (it IS next to a Little Chef, but this was shut!)
Room was clean, but the sofa was quite stained
Linen was clean, but bed was very lumpy, just one tiny pillow.....
Bathroom is TERRIBLE
* the shower is pitiful - you will get wetter standing out in the rain (I did!)
* bath is so shallow it did not even cover my legs! (see photo)
* one pitiful, very old, very thin, towel (no chance of that one being stolen....)
* one very small piece of really nasty cheap soap
Good news:
Cheap!
Staff were very willing to help, but the advice they gave me re: local takeaways was wrong... (eg the fish & chip shop was shut before 10pm, though I was assured it should stay open on a weekday until 11pm)
Very quiet
Bad news:
Horrible
Nothing to eat
Some tosser in a builder's van had parked in one of the disabled parking spaces....
I've given it two stars (not one) as it was SO CHEAP! (but then again, you are not getting a special travelodge deal, you are just getting what you pay for)
Room Tip: Book early so that you can get a good deal with A DIFFERENT HOTEL
