“Quality !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2010

We have just returned from a very relaxing 4 night stay at the Red Lion and it was quality.
One thing that we always appreciate is good service and they have this in abundence, nothing is ever to much trouble.
Room 5 was cozy, clean, with mod cons and warm whilst the bathroom followed suit especially with the heated towel rail. Ignore the negative comments regarding the Saniflow toilet which is a load of rubbish.
The food is of a high standard and very enjoyable which is one of the reasons we chose the Red Lion in short we were not disappointed. Every meal we had whether it was our breakfast or dinner hit the spot, mind you do try the duck as I have never tasted duck like that cooked to perfection.
To sum up Lisa and the team at the Red Lion should all be proud of themslves as they all delivered what we were looking for. Thank you.

“An absolute gem of a pub, amazing food and so dog friendly too...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2010

We stayed at the Red Lion for three glorious nights last week and what a hidden gem. It was an absolute delight and Sarah, Lisa, Cocoa and their team were wonderful hosts. The food was beautiful having been sourced from local ingredients and perfectly cooked - it was also great value and there was a brilliant selection of wines and beers. Everyone we met was cheerful, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Also this place is truly dog friendly - our young lab loved it as much as we did - he was thoroughly spoilt. We stayed in Room 3 which had two bedrooms and a huge bathroom so would be perfect for a family too. Looking forward to our next visit.

“exceptional service and attention to detail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2010

The two ladies that manage this beautiful inn clearly take real pride in the service they provide and the quality of the food served. The rooms are quirky, characterful and in-keeping with the age of the building. Bedroom was cosy, nice big modern bathroom with constant hot water for tub (lack of shower did not bother us at all). We stopped for the weekend and ended up eating there both nights - the food was definately some of the best I have had in a long time, and is certainly several leagues above your average pub fare - I would definately recommend the calves liver. Breakfast lived up to the quality of the evening meals with the smoked haddock with poached egg being a particular highlight. The Inn is in an excellent location for touring the North Cotswolds - we visited Hidcote, Chipping Camden, Stow, Broadway, and Sudeley Castle all not more than 15 mins away.

“What a wonderful place to stay!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2010

We chose the Red Lion to stay for a weekend in the Cotswolds based on a recommendation and we weren't disappointed. We were greeted with warm and friendly staff who showed us straight to our room with no waiting around.
Our room was charming, it looked like it had been recently refurbished and was of an excellent standard of cleanliness and extremely comfortable.
Breakfast was delicious and we ate in the pub both nights.....the food was AMAZING!!
Lisa and Sarah made us feel very welcome as did the staff and we must mention Cocoa too who is their gorgeous chocolate lab!
We will DEFINITELY be returning and would recommend this warm, friendly and most accomodating place to stay to anyone.
Thank you for a 1st class stay! See you again very soon!

“A Brilliant Festive Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 April 2010

We stayed at the Red Lion for two nights before Christmas. The service was very good, as the staff were friendly and obliging. They showed us to our room as soon as we arrived and we were able to take a welcomed cup of tea and coffee. The room was warm, comfortable, clean and cheerful, as was the en suite bathroom with shower.

The meals we had were out of this world, even though the pub/restaurant was busy (the time of year!). We spent our evenings here and found a conducive atmosphere for our much-needed relaxing break.

We liked everything about the Red Lion and despite a notice to the contrary, just had to offer Cocoa a titbit or two! We hope to return in the early summer.
