“Good all round”

It was the day after boxing day and a bank holiday so not a problem for us that service was a little slow, actually it was very very slow but we were in no hurry and it was nice smiley service. It would have been nice if our long wait had been acknowledged though.
The decor is nice, olde world but not in an OTT theme pub way. Food was very good, also a good drinks menu. Would definitely use again in the future.

“So glad we stayed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

We spent a wonderful overnight at The Red Lion. It's a very quaint, historical inn in a sleepy little town. Rooms were a tad small, but very clean and comfortable. The only drawback was the hand shower. Food was excellent and staff was very helpful and friendly. It was a great place to serve as a base for exploring the area. Highly recommend.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

We have now stayed here twice and absolutely love it, the food is very good indeed. Staff are all very friendly and happy to help. We took our 7 month old beagle with us which we were a little worried about, but for no reason as she was just as well looked after as we were. The red lion is in a great postion to explore the cotwolds and really makes for a lovely weekend.

I have just returned home from my stay at the red lion and it was amazing! Attention to detail, excellent food and well priced, we tried both menus and love everything from the ales to the wine, the staff couldn't do enough for us, we were looked after the most my Ben and I want to thank him for making the stay so pleasurable, hats off to him he made it truly special for myself and my wife, recommend to any body.
