“Cheap and cheerful!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

This was our second trip to Bosworth Hall Hotel - both booked through Travelzoo. We upgraded to an Executive room which was well worth the extra £10 or £20 - lovely large room with a super-king size bed. Furnishings in the room were a little "tired" but all was clean and tidy. Our deal included the carvery meal each evening + a bottle of wine. The food was plentiful but lacked the wow factor - but, as has already been said, you get what you pay for! My only criticism of the restaurant is that the trolley the staff use to stack dirty plates is right by the desk where you book in each evening. So, as you wait to be shown to your table, the remains of other people's dinners are being scrapped into a bucket virtually under your nose, which is not very pleasant. Other than that, the hotel is in a beautiful setting and the little church in the grounds is well worth a visit.

Thank you for your comments and i am pleased that you enjoyed your second value for money break with us. I have passed on your comments to the restaurant manager regarding the trolley although as you can appreciate with such a busy hotel the space is used to the maximum capacity

“Chilly but nice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Booked a value weekend through offer featured on Travelzoo. Very young staff could do with a bit more training, although I am sure this is ongoing. We upgraded to Crompton restaurant on the second night and when asked, the waitier didn't know what the soup was!

We ate in the carvery (included) restaurant on the first night. Felt a bit odd carrying our 'free' bottle of wine to our table ourselves, handed to us from a cool box by the restaurant entrance, but you get what you pay for I guess!

Unfortunately, the public areas of the hotel, - bar, reception, corridors, were all rather chilly, putting you off of lingering for a post dinner drink. Our room was warm though. Hotel was also full of coach parties, but this was not a problem as they seem to dine in a separate room.

If there was any entertainment, we were not told about it. I think perhaps it was just for the coach parties?

Room Tip: We paid to upgrade and were then upgraded again, free of charge. Our friends did none of that and s...

I apologise that you were handed your wine from a cool box which should not have happened and also that you thought the public areas to be cold. The courtyard bar is mainly glass although all of the areas are heated

“Truly Awful Experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Don't be seduced by its cheapness! Recently stopped at this hotel which from the outside looked fantastic value for money - however should have taken more notice of previous reviews. On walking into the reception area there was distinctive smell of dettol (the same kind of smell you get when you walk into an old people's home). The interior is very grand but that certainly ends when you reach your rooms. I paid extra for an executive suite and if that was executive I can only begin to imagine what the standard room looked like! Dirty sheets, battered and old furniture, only one towel for both of us, shower curtain hanging down. There was a permanent vibration under the floor boards from the hotels boiler. Breakfast the next morning was cold and looked like it had been reheated for several days. Complained to reception and was advised to put it in writing. 28 days after I had emailed I had a response stating that I should have complained at the time! Emailed them back immediately and have still not had a response! Drove away trying to tell myself that the cheapness made it good value for money but there was nothing good about it. Avoid at all costs!!!!

Room Tip: Don't book at this hotel!

Thank you for your comments and I apologise that we did not meet your expectations whilst you were at the hotel. The style and decor reflects the age of the building and is not modern and purpose built. We offer a variety of value for money breaks for guests of all ages and generally speaking we have received more than positive feedback.
Additional towels are kept in the wardrobes within the bedrooms and should guests require more we are more than happy to assist .
All guest feedback positive or negative is automatically responded to, however i apologise that the hotel did not meet your expectation and that you were not happy with our response
