I booked a last minute holiday as builders were in residence in my own cottage. I was astounded at the quality of the hotel, the food was really good, food hot and presented on really hot plates. The staff were friendly and still professional. I asked for a ground floor room as I have difficulty with stairs, my room in the cottage annex was beautiful,well appointed and well heated. Will return in the future.

stayed here on an alleged "special rate" for a colleagues wedding in summer. Stayed in the block with medieval themed decor.Breakfast resembled NHS catering after a very long wait. Checkout was way early at 10am for a weekend. Price-quality unimpressive.Never again....

We paid for a Superior room which was a very good size, comfy bed, large flat screen TV and super bathroom (which looked new) with bath and shower over.

The bar, restaurant and reception were a short walk from our room. Reception/bar/restaurant staff were all friendly and efficient, we had good service throughout our stay.

Breakfast was a buffet of cereals, juice, fresh fruit etc. followed by a good choice of cooked breakfast which was hot and tasty; set us up for the day. The starters/soup at dinner were very good but we thought the main courses were lacking in flavour. I had to add salt which I don't usually use. Also a thing I found a bit strange was nearly everything I ordered came with a large portion of salad leaves.

Overall we enjoyed our stay very much, the hotel has a nice relaxing feel to it and is very comfortable. Oh, and everywhere was spotless!

Like a game old bird it was good in parts. Setting is first class and grounds well laid out. Our bedroom was spacious and beds comfortable. If your staying for more than a couple of days then you will find that the wardrobe space is minimal, If you value early nights than avoid staying in the block overlooking the function rooms - particularly at week-ends. Meal times are similar to a military operation and less nimble early diners could be injured in the rush to secure a table. The food served is adequate to good although service can vary depending on the time you dine (later is better than to early). Bar area and lounge are pleasant enough but soon fills up, particularly if entertainment is on the cards. Taking everything into account I would say that the hotel offers good value for the tariffs charged and there always seems to be good offers available. It is handily situated for touring around the Cotswolds and, Stratford-on-Avon is virtually on the doorstep. Would I go there again? Probably - but would ensure a room as far removed from the function rooms as possible.
