“An evocative hotel with a sense of history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We stayed in February to attend a Sixties night at the adjoining venue "Rick's Bar". The building is beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The event was well worth the money and we thought the performers were fantastic. The meal was top quality and just enough! All round the break was good value. We had the added bonus of snow falling which enhanced the whole experience. Will certainly return.

“Where's this restaurant's Michilin stars?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We have a taste card, and my husband found this place on their website. The food was absolutely amazing! Everything from the amuse bouche, to the warm fluffy fresh cooked rolls, from my beetroot sorbet with goats cheese starter, to the juiciest, tasiest pork belly, I was in food heaven!

Our main waiter was excellent, though his back up staff were not as good. The place itself is a little dated, but really coy with roaring fire and really low ceiling.

I would go back here in a heartbeat. spectacular fine dining food. Highly recommend.

My husband had the carpacio with poached egg yolk, and the Dover soul, which were also lovely. They filleted the fish at the table, which was a nice little touch. He also had some chocolatey desert, with popcorn panacota and honey comb ice cream and was raving about that.

The chese board was a little disappointing after everything else being so great. It is very pricey though - which isn't a problem with the taste card offer but without it would be expensive - but well worth it for what you get!

“Fabulous wedding”

We stayed 1 night at Nailcote Hall, we were attending a friends wedding. We stayed the night prior to this in Warwick, I rang Nailcote on the Saturday morning and asked if we could check in early as we were attending a wedding there, the very helpful young lady checked and said that it would fine as our room was ready so we could arrive when we wanted. The hotel and grounds look very impressive from the outside. The check in was good, the same young lady who had spoken to us was there and made us feel very welcome. Our room was in the newer part of the hotel, it was very clean with antique style furnishings and a reasonable size.Tea coffee, hot chocolate and a 2 pkts of biscuits were provided. Tv was flat screen wall mounted with all the usual free view channels.
The bathroom was clean. The shower, was the most powerful I have ever been under ! I noticed that the toilet seat was cracked almost the whole way through, I rang reception to advise of this and in fairness I was offered a change of room which I declined , i was more concerned that they may have thought we had broken the seat and tried to charge us.
The hotel had leisure facilities pool etc, but as the wedding started at 2pm and the check-out was 10.30am , which I do feel is a little early considering the premier inn we stayed at the night before was 12 noon.
Breakfast was included as we were part of a wedding party our breakfast was set up in a seperate room, standard english breakfast, staff very friendly.
Alll in all I enjoyed my stay and really couldn't fault the hotel and certainly not the friendliness of the staff, however I did have to ask myself whether in comparison to the Premier Inn Warwick did it warrant the £115 price tag, considering that he full price at the Premier Inn was half and it was as comfortable/friendly ( i would say the breakfast was better), ok Nailcote does offer a lot of extra facilities , golf, swimming pool etc., so I would say think about what you need, it suited us to stay there because we were at a wedding , which I must say was beautiful , but if I just needed a bed maybe I would pulp for the cheaper option.
All in all a pleasant stay at a very nice hotel

“Excellent Country Manor Hotel ..... In every way!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Once again, thank you to all the staff at Nailcote Hall, for making our Business trip a resounding success, this is the third time we have booked, and although I have only just left the hotel, we are booked in again for next year! The hotel is our preferred choice for the annual Trade show in the NEC and in our opinion can not be beaten for its location, services offered and the excellent staff who make our annual weekly stay so enjoyable ... like a home from home, the moment we arrive we are greeted personally and all of our needs are met efficiently. The receptionists are some of the best we have encountered, Daniel is excellent from the moment we book through to our checkout, The restaurant and breakfast staff so helpful and friendly, Carole and Raoul are to be commended on how professional and accomodating they are, in fact it is hard to find fault with any aspect of our annual stay at this hotel, Rick the owner has some of the best staff I have had the pleasure in meeting... very well done Nailcote Hall.
The rooms are clean, very well equipped. We look forward to our annual return in 2013 !
Tremendous hotel, attentive and extremely helpful staff .... well done everyone

“Nice hotel but service and cleanliness could be improved”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

On entering the courtyard the buildings seemed impressive and walking through reception all seemed clean and opulent. Unfortunately they have a cat roaming around the reception area, not that I am against animals but if anyone was allergic then this should be mentioned at time of booking or at least known to customers booking in.

The receptionist was very efficient and the room was very nice, overlooking the frony entrance and part of the golf course. On making a pot of tea i noticed that this had not been cleaned properly as there was still stewed tea from the previous occupants. Not nice!!! also empty toiletry boxes left in the draws. I have worked in hotels and know housekeepers do have a lot to do but paying 115.00 for a room you expect a lot of attention to detail. The receptionist offered to get this changed but I said I would do it myself.

Breakfast next morning was ok but I expected a lot more than what I got, overcooked bacon, cold mushrooms and staff that were quite slow considering the small amount of people in there. The older lady at breakfast was brilliant, supplying us with more juice, tea and toast but again the juice jugs ran dry and I had to ask for juice, tea, toast and milk. Again paying the price you would expect a lot more so my expectations were not met.

It may seem a bit picky but I have stayed in a lot of hotels, chain hotels for a lot less and received better service.

Would I return here - No, unfortunately not!
