“Good value for money, excellent location. Its a Travelodge !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Right in the centre of leatherhead. Could not be better placed for town centre.
Just what you expeect from a travelodge. Pay £19 - it is excellent value. Pay £80 and it is not.
Rooms were clean and staff reasonable.
No Car Park at site as it is in town centre. On road restriction up to 1 hour. Try Church Street for long term stay.
Plenty of local cafes for breakfast if you do not want their packaged one. Turn left out of hotel for a couple of minutes. Chocie of 3 or more.

“Avoid this place like the plague”

This hotel is very hard to find, there is no signage and they recommend that you park in a nearby carpark, from whence you will be able to wander aimlessly around hoping to find the hotel. If it is night time, it will be even more difficult to find and the car park is locked at Midnight.

After having trouble finding the hotel and arriving late and tired I found that they had given my room away. The receptionist offered no alternative accomodation until I pressed the matter and then, rather than book me in at a nearby hotel they expected me to travel to the nearest Travelodge. When it is gone midnight and you are tired ... as receptionist standing looking useless and telling you that it isn't their fault because they have only just come on duty is not what you want to hear. Their response to my subsequent complain has been tardy and useless. I have never felt strongly enough to write a negative review on Tripadvisor before so that should tell you how badly they handled the whole thing.

Room Tip: Go to Premier Inn

“OK at the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

Generally as Travelodge's go I would rate this as one of the better ones.

Young receptionist was very pleasant and friendly and the room was quiet, away from the front.

Travelodge rooms are basic, that is to be expected at the price, but as long as the room is clean and preferably quiet (as far as this in within Travelodge's control) then they do their job for me.

Parking is fairly straightforward in Church Street (free between 6pm and 8am) although 3 hour limit during the day.

Leatherhead is nothing special although it does have a Wetherspoons, a good bike shop, a good pet shop, Sainsburys and a Greggs opposite (ideal for breakfast). Half a dozen restaurants including Italian, Indian etc. Good base for the North Downs.

Room Tip: Away from the front, although Leatherhead not unduly noisy midweek in my experience. Might be mar...

“OK for a cheap 1 night stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

I only paid £12 for a family room in the sale and was pleased that I had not spent much more than this. The room was clean and functional and the staff that we spoke to were welcoming and helpful. The bathroom was also clean and the shower was not too bad. Shame about the lack of Car Park for Travelodge customers, as the hotel is in a pedestrian area and at midnight when you are trying to find somewhere to park in an town you are not familiar with, it is not brilliant! Luckily we came across Church Street Car Park which is free after 6pm so we parked there. A practical, functional room for the occasional night.

“OK For One Night!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

We stayed here for one night on December 2nd 2011. The location is in a pedestrian area but if you arrive near 6pm you can park overnight in Church Street Car Park just up the road. To park in the suggested Swan Car Park you need a permit purchased from Travelodge reception. No problem but what do you do with the car whilst you get one of those!

Whetherspoons just up the road for some decent food and beer in comfortable surroundings as well as cafes in the day time for breakfast if you didn't want a Wetherspoons. Also a Sainsburys literally next door in the Swan Centre.

Arrive at the hotel on foot was OK. Checked in smoothly and it is pretty secure as key card access to the rooms at all times and the main door after 10pm.

Arrival in the family room appeared OK. On closer inspection there was tooth paste still on the shelving in the bathroom, we had to make the kids beds, the pillows are extremely thin and the bedside shelving had sticky residue that I don't want to know what it was!

A couple of saches of coffee, two tea bags and no biscuits in the tea tray.

The beds were rock hard but we managed some decent sleep as we were at the back of the hotel and away from the market being set up early Saturday morning. We did have a long journey so pretty tired.

We were on floor one, but on floor 3 there was a fight in the early hours and the police were called but we missed all this!

Overall for one night bunk down and get some kip it's OK. We are not a flash family but I would not want to stay longer than one night, it served our purpose.

The shower was powerful and hot so no complaints there and the bath seemed clean.

Would I stay again? For one night I would, but would literally sleep and shower in the room, thats it. Only the second ever Travelodge I stayed in and you get what you pay for!

Room Tip: Stay at the back of the hotel!
