If the place was badged and priced more for what it actually is – a B&B for tradesmen – it would be absolutely fine. However, calling it a hotel and charging accordingly will only lead to disappointment. It’s scruffy, not particularly clean, there’s rubbish in the car park, no restaurant, and the breakfast and bar area feel more like someone’s lounge (ironing waiting to be done and baby equipment by the TV…). However, it isn’t all bad and the people who own and run it are decent and friendly enough. That said, they should cut the prices by at least 50% and rebadge as a B&B.

Stayed in February 2011 with family. Never stayed in such a dirty, run down hotel. The spider's webs were immense! The beds were old, mattresses were bumpy, the toilet over-flowed, showers were all mouldy and rusty with tiles missing, my daughters due to this, did not shower in the morning.

On arrival we were disgusted in the room which we were allocated as it stunk of smoke and cigarettes, however they did swop rooms for us. The only highlight of our stay was the breakfast as it was extremely nice. However we will not be staying at this hotel again.

I was totally shocked when I walked into this tatty hotel .... it was tired and needs a total overhaul!

The room was ok in size but had the smallest bathroom I have ever seen in my life. The shower dribbled and the bed was also so uncomfortable with bumps and lumps.

It was also overpriced. Never again!

this guest house is tired and in need of an update. we were double booked in the family room, so agreed to have 2 rooms in attic with shared bathroom at no extra cost. good job as the basin in the room gurgled all night with no cold water. bathrm door vandelised and shower over bath didnt work. i could go on! breakfast was ok, good coffee machine but cheap ingredients. All in all, not good value for money.
