We stayed here overnight for a wedding being held at the hotel. The cost of a delux room was £170 however this was reduced for the wedding party. I'm my opinion it was very overpriced. I've stayed in better rooms at a fraction of the cost. I understand it's in a beautiful location near the Downs and the Epsom race course but it was a box standard room with limited facilities. As I was booking in the receptionist belched without an apology. There were two chais in the room which were both uncomfortable. No room safe and too few electrical sockets. I needed to take out charges so my wife could plug in one of her styling items. The room was cold as the heating was only turned on when we arrived. I can't see why for an hour prior to anyone booking in especially in the winter it can't be turned on just to make it welcoming. The bathroom was ok, nothing flash a small bath but however a separate shower which was a touch I liked. The area the hotel is set in I must admit was beautiful peaceful and no cars passing every second to disturb our front appointed room.
As I stated we we her for a wedding/reception that was conducted all in one. It was a very nice service and cosy room in which it was held. The bar we were the shown to was go good size to allow everyone to move around. However it was a bit odd that when I ordered a drink the staff needed to pop off someplace to get it. All other drinks were on hand.
The reception meal was great. Consisting of items I have always wanted to try. I had the wood pigeon and it was cooked beautifully.
Although more than likely I wont stay at this hotel again it is worth a visit for the food.
My over all view of the hotel is overpriced rooms with few personal amenities. The food was fantastic but
