My night at the Kings Arms was more-or-less exactly what I expected. A comfortable room in a traditional pub/hotel which served a selection of well-kept beers, reasonable food (both dinner and breakfast) and offered guests a selection of other free facilities such as parking and wireless internet.
There aren't many parking spaces outside the hotel (maybe 7 or 8), but I was able to get one without any problem. Parking was free, which isn't always the case in this area.
The room wasn't anything spectacular. It was a bit rough around the edges in places, but it was clean and had everything you need for a decent night; a clean, comfortable bed, flat screen TV, clean shower-room / toilet, tea and coffee making facilities.
The bar menu available in the pub downstairs was fairly good. I'd describe it as good quality pub food. I had a burger and it was very nice. If you don't fancy eating in the pub there are several other pubs / restaurants within easy walking distance of the Kings Arms. I certainly saw 2 or 3 within about 20 yards of the front door.
Breakfast at the hotel was also very good - it was served very quickly which, for me, is always a bonus as I am generally running late in the morning!
Can't really fault the place. For £65 for one night (single room), I thought it was fairly good value. I have certainly paid more for similar (sometimes worse) accommodation in this area.
It's certainly not the Ritz, but it's not claiming that it is! If you are looking for reasonably priced pub / B&B accommodation, then that's what you get at the Kings Arms.
Room Tip: The single room I stayed in was small, but more than adequate for me. Some might find it a bit too s...
