We stayed here for a weekend away and overall found it pretty good although there is room for some quite easy improvement.

The staff were all brilliant: Welcoming, helpful, attentive without being intrusive and informative.

We had to change from the first room allocated as the door wouldn't shut, but were moved quickly and efficiently. The building itself is lovely, if a little confusing to get around, but that's a part of its charm rather than a criticism. The room itself is probably due for an update but was clean, spacious and comfortable. Towels are a little thin and need changing, a refit of the bathroom and changing the vinyl coated headboard together with a lick of paint would improve it no end!

The food was good and reasonably priced.

Overall reasonable value for money and should we need to be in the area again would happily stay here. It could just be so much better so easily and that's frustrating!

My work takes me from one end of the country to the other and I stop in a multitude of hotels, B+Bs, Inns and motels. Sadly this one falls behind the standards set by so many others in a similar price bracket.

The room was tired, towels, worn and in reed of replacement. Evening meal was OK but average, however breakfast was nice. All in all, there was nothing bad to say about the hotel, but neither was there anything exceptional

We spent 3 nights over Xmas at the hotel visiting relatives in the area. We had to change 3 rooms as the matterasses were of such poor quality with springs poking through (too painful and uncomfortable to sleep !). We were finally moved to a room with a slightly better mattress but no working shower ! Staff were very polite and friendly but no offer of compensation when we checked out after Boxing Day !

Cambridge couple

I have stayed at other Oxford Hotel places and they have always been fair value for money. I spent a comfortable night at Coulsdon Manor when on business in Coulsdon. Staff were professional and friendly. My room was well furnished but the decoration had taken a few knocks over the years since the last refurbishment and the bathroom fittings are a bit dated. The modern flat-screen TV had a very good range of channels, including SKY Sports. Breakfast was very good and the excellent cooked breakfast is waiter-served which I always prefer to a buffet of stuff that was cooked some time ago.
