“English cottage feeling whilst on business”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I had been trying to find a decent place to stay in Camberley, where my company's HQ is.
Looked all over and then a colleague suggested to stay at the Frimley.
Although I have been to the UK very often, this was the very first time I was staying in a typical english countryside hotel and I liked it from the moment I entered the parking lot.
The room was nice, clean and had all I wanted. Wifi is only available at the reception level, so no iPad in the room. The hotel offers gym and spa facilities and even a pool.
Breakfast was just lovely: a lot of fresh fruit, nice bread, typical english breakfast. Everything was available to start the day in a healthy way. I will be going to camberley quite often as of now and know where I will be staying next. I enrolled in their frequent traveller program (the hotel is part of the MacDonald chain) and it was the very first time that a loyalty program offered the possibility of claiming points for money spent before enrolling in the program. This is something that usually never happens. The MacDonald chain understands the needs of business people and I will be certainly checking their other hotels when traveling elsewhere in GB.

“Christmas with the family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We booked a Christmas stay at Frimley Hall from 25th - 27th December 2011. Our family group ranged in age from 3 years to 98 years. The Christmas package and rooms were excellent value and our specific requests for rooms were very well dealt with by Claire and Ashley. The Christmas Day lunch was one of the best we have had and the Boxing Day buffet lunch was what the word 'sumptious' was invented for. We would recommend Christmas at Frimley Hall for all as there is the choice of the family Christmas lunch in one restaurant and an adults only Christmas lunch in the other.

“Business Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

A Beautiful old English style country house, nice rooms but the staff are a bit stuffy, different menus for the bar and restaurant. Shower was fantastic, room clean and tidy

Didn’t eat here as the food was too expensive, there's an indian restaurant not far for half the price and the 12% service charge really was a put off from eating here

Overall nice rooms but expensive to eat and drink scoring 6/10

Room Tip: ask for a bigger room if available

Many thanks Tim D for your review. I am pleased to note that you enjoyed your stay on the whole, however, disappointed to note your comments regarding the pricing of our food and beverages. We constantly monitor our local four star competitor set to ensure that our pricing strategy is very competitive in the market place. In terms of our food, we are very proud of the quality and provenance of our food and again this is priced very competitively in comparison to the local market place for four star hotels.
I do hope that you will afford us the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future.

“enjoyable Spa Day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This was my second visit to the hotel. I have to say I was impressed that the manager cared enough to put right some of the wrongs experienced in my previous attendance at a spa day by allowing me to go back with a friend and try it out again for free. This time the lunch was served promptly and the soup and baguette were delicious. The spa facilities are pretty basic but at least everything was working this time and my friend and I enjoyed the pampering and relaxation. Thank you!

Many thanks taiters for your review. I was delighted to note that you enjoyed your return visit to the Spa. Whilst I would never boast that we get things right all of the time, it is important that we endeavour to listen to our critics, learn and deliver the service, quality and customer care expected, at all times. I do hope that you will visit us again in the not too distant future.

“Great Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I was very fortunate to be sent to the Frimley area for business and this hotel came highly reccommended by our corp. travel agent. Value for the price was excellent. I know they are more common in England but Estate hotels like this in Canada are rare so I really enjoyed the common area of the hotel (lounge/reception area). My room was excellent though it time to work out getting the shower running. My only negative was the price of food. Dinner was very pricey but not that unexpected given the quality of food/menu. It was breakfast that disappointed me most as I felt both the buffet and regular breakfast menu were way over priced. My suggestion is tkae the 20 minute walk (5 minute drive) into Camberly and enjoy one of the local pubs or restaurants as you well get way more value for money.

Many thanks William C for your review. I was delighted to note that you enjoyed your stay with us but disappointed to note your comments regarding our Breakfast. We pride ourselves with our quality and provenance of our food which has been rewarded by the AA awarding us 2 Rosettes. I do hope that you will give us the opportunity of being service to you again and offering you a warm welcome back to Macdonald Frimley Hall Hotel & Spa.
