We often visit this area as we have family here. Staff were friendly & helpful.
Our room was spacious but smelt, it was clear someone had been smoking in the bathroom as the smell was very strong. I mentioned it to reception and it was played down & even laughed at which I found surprising. Someone looked for air freshener, couldn't find it, so nothing was done about the smell. I ended up spraying my body spray around to try and get rid of the smell of smoke!
The room was clean like all Premier Inn's are, but we overlooked the very busy main road. It was hot during the night but couldn't open the window due to the noise outside. Please be aware the hotel is situated next to a busy main road.
Breakfast (in the adjoining pub) was the worst we have had at a Premier Inn, and we have stayed at many! Short staffed, the fruit salad was starting to go 'off' as it had that fizzy flavour to it. Water was served from 2 flasks and was tepid. We asked for hot water and was given an explanation that someone had forgotten to turn on the boiler in the morning! We were unable to have tea or coffee. My daughter order a cooked breakfast with scrambled eggs and what arrived was clearly chopped up fried eggs! You could see the separate white & yellow of the egg and they tasted of fat. It really was a very disappointing breakfast, the worst we've had at a Premier Inn.
We wouldn't come back to this Premier Inn - we have found other Premier Inn's in the area that offer better value for money....
