We took a one night trip to the alton towers hotel as a birthday treat for our 3 year old son.
Check in was simple, room spacious and appeared clean (I'm not one for checking under beds and in corners of window ledges etc.!)
Water park closed at 4pm so would advise getting there early as we only got 2 hours on the first day, however, our tickets allowed us to use the water park after check out the following day which was great!
Our stay was a late deal so didn't include an evening meal, but we were told we could reserve a table on arrival. Unfortunately the earliest available was 7.15pm which was a little late for a 3 year old to eat, and also meant that he would miss the evening entertainment that started at 7pm! Luckily we had taken sandwiches, crisps and drinks as there was no room service until after 10.30pm either!!
The evening entertainment was short and mediocre but the kids appeared to love it which i guess is all the matters!
Drinks were also overpriced but that's to be expected in hotels.
All in all we had a great time, good value for money and friendly staff. We absolutely loved the water park and even got to swim outside when there was snow on the ground which was abit surreal.
The only major critisism would be the room service pizza menu!!!!!
I can not warn people strongly enough..... Frozen pizza base, thick helpings of tomato purée, semi cooked cheese, pepperoni that's supposed to be ham, and all at a staggering price of £8.95 each!!!!! Eaten by myself and my partner who were both promptly sick!!!!!!
DISGUISTING!!!!!!......
