We booked Ston Easton for my sister's special birthday celebration on 11th February 2012 and what a warm reception we received in this beautiful country house hotel! The 18th century palladian building has a beautiful elegant interior that has been sensitively furnished in keeping with the Georgian style, retaining many period features. We were shown into the comfortable library with its roaring log fire where we had canapes before a lovely three course lunch in the print room, which was perfect for our party, like having our own private dining room. The staff were so attentive, nothing was too much trouble, and made us feel very welcome. After dining handsomely, we had a stroll in the extensive grounds, admiring the cascades and water falls, accompanied by the resident cocker spaniel! Rounded off by tea in the library, it was a perfect day - thank you Ston Easton. I hear that the hotel is changing ownership so please, make sure you retain the unique charm of this beautiful historic building, and its lovely intimate atmosphere. Spending time at Ston Easton felt more like staying in a private country house than an hotel, and this was a huge part of its charm. No corporate decor or brash branding to be seen. It's a winning formula, so don't change it!
