From the moment we arrived we knew this hotel was special - the comments in the Guest Book said it all! Our room was spacious and had beautiful antique furniture. The bed was supremely comfortable and the thick fluffy white towels and bathrobes a delight. The fresh fruit and flowers were a nice extra touch. In fact the standard of housekeeping throughout the hotel was very high. The fabulous food was complemented by stunning panoramic views and spectacular sunsets from the dining room windows. The service and hospitality offered by Tim and Anne Riley was outstanding and such a welcome change from those bland corporate hotels we have sometimes stayed in......we just can't wait to return!

Tim and Anne Riley run a first class hotel to a very high standard. The hotel is beautifully situated overlooking Porlock and the sea. The rooms are large and beautifully furnished.
What impresses most is the standard of presentation and cleanliness.
Breakfast is served to your table, which makes a change from the usual hotel serve yourself buffet breakfasts.
Will definitely go back when we have the chance.

This is a lovely hotel combining modern amenities with traditional values and lots of lovely finishing touches - eg putting fresh milk in with tea making equipment each night, when they turn down the bed. The whole place is spotless and Tim and Anne are wonderful hosts - nothing at all is too much trouble. Bed was really comfortable and room had sofa from which to gaze at the lovely seaview. I strongly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!

The pillows were feather and down (a miracle in itself!) and very new and fresh. Our room was large, comfy with armchairs, tv etc. and very cosy with an excellent en-suite having both shower/bath etc. Wonderful views over the Porlock Bay from the bedroom. Service was excellent, and nothing seemed to be to much trouble for Anne and Tim the owners, and my gluten-free diet was no problem ( wonderful lemon/raspberry roulade). Many choices for breakfast and the evening meals were prepared by the owner Anne and were just delicious!!
Public rooms had cozy log fires, fresh flowers and lots of wood panelling, and a small discreet bar for the evenings. You half expected Poirot or Miss Marple to appear at any moment!
Came away feeling calm, relaxed and pampered.
Also much fitter, after all the walking by the beach and on the beautiful Exmoor hills.
We are definitely staying again.
