“Relaxing Christmas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We stayed at the Walton Park Hotel on Christmas Eve. What a lovely evening. We where greeted with an individual letter and Christmas card from the staff welcoming us to the hotel and informing us of the plans for the evening ahead. Then followed a wondeful meal, ending with the waiter carrying our coffee into the lounge. The next morning we where treated to a great breakfast, again with friendly and attentive staff. What a great way to spend Christmas Eve, we will certainly be going again and recommending to our families and friends.

“Christmas meal on 16th December - food very poor - School Meal Food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

We have been here for our christmas do, for the past three years and on both previous times the food was fine. This year on Friday 16th the food was very bad. Not just mine all of our food and not just the main. The prawns were the smallest I had seen for many years and the portion of this and the mellon was very small.
The Turkey was from an industrial canteen suplier, it was cold and had some Goo in the middle, The Steak was over cooked (I was told that they were all cooked the same and then reheated when required) The sauce was supposed to make it better..
Our conclusion was that it reminded us of school dinners not what is expected in a 3 star hotel. The talk in the bar reveiled that were were not the only ones.
They need Gordon Ramsey to visit.
We will not go back next year and we will not reccomment this to anyone (as we had before)

Thank you for your review however we are surprised to read the comments about the meal as many other guests on the same night made many comlpimentary comments, indeed we have not changed suppliers in the past three years that you have been having your Christmas party here at the hotel so find it even more difficult to understand

“Three weeks of pure pleasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

If you want to avoid the high prices and pressure of hotels in Bristol try this place just outside and on the coast in Clevedon.
We spent three weeks there and had the best of times. The hotel is at least victorian so plenty of space though a recent upgrade has given it a modern and warm feel.
Location on the cliffs above the Bristol Channel is spectacular; staff incredibly welcoming and obliging. Because we were working in Bristol our arrivals and departures were awkward some days- no problem at all.
Restaurant was outstanding with a new menu every evening; including a range of specials; superb food and excellent value!
Parking is good, access via the promenade or round the hill to M5 takes ten minutes max .
What's not to like here? We'll certainly be back!!

Room Tip: Go for first floor. great rooms- the bridal suite which we had for week one was spectacular

“If you want to sleep don't stay here!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011 via mobile

Arrived to an amazing building, lovely lobby and quirky old elevator and thought what a good start.
We were placed in a room a the far corner of the second floor so as to avoid the function that was on which we had been warned of in advance however, the room was a tiny double room in the attic and if you are tall, claustrophobic or use a wheelchair (which my wife does) then it is totally unsuited.
We were moved to a better sized room on the second floor and on the first night, the noise from he function was not a problem however a constant tapping sound on the roof area meant no minimal sleep on night one. Opted to pay for dinner and it was not worth the money. I think the chef forgot to flavour everything. Even the duck pate was flavourless.
Second night worse-another function courtesy of a local dj called music man who thinks he is in a club. All we could here was the sound of he bass. I asked reception if he could be asked to turn It down a little and if he did then it didn't appear to make a difference. The rest of the night more tapping. Impossible to sleep. Will never stay here again. The only positive we're the few members of catering staff Nd power who all made an effort and were very friendly. Not good value and even if it were cheaper, it would still be bad value. I haven't covered everything but this is plenty.

I apologize for your disappointing stay. Whilst we hold regular functions the music is rigorously controlled finishing at 12.30. Unfortunately the DJ on the second night was not our resident DJ and was somewhat overzealous with his music a fault we have now rectified.
