“Great wedding venue!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

Stayed here for the night with my partner to celebrate our 10th anniversary. The room was lovely and clean and breakfast superb with plenty to choose from and staff very friendly making we sure we had plenty to eat.
Only down side was at 10:30 a party started in the function room directly below our room, the music was so loud our floor was vibrating and you could hear every word of the DJ and the songs he was playing. We put up with this for half an hour and had to go down to reception to complain, where we were told there was nothing they could do, after we said "that was not good enough" they offered to upgrade us for free to the honeymoon suite and offered us a free bottle of wine (which they then tried to charge us £21.95 for) as we checked out. Very dissapointed that we were not informed of the funtion at the time of booking as we would never have stayed at the hotel.
The honeymoom suit was lovely although with view of the carpark and sounds of people outside partying and smoking till 1am not ideal.
We would recomend this hotel as a great wedding or party venue, but if you are planning a nice quiet relaxing weekend retreat this is not the hotel for you.
We paid £125.00 for a four poster room, slightly over priced I think.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the function room for a better chance of sleep.

“Great place for a wedding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

We attended a wedding on Sunday 9th October and the food, service and the staff were fantastic! Belinda's organisation and attention to every little detail is to be highly commended. What a jewel of a place!

“Small Rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Handily situated hotel just a minute or two from junction 22 of the M5. 5 minutes from Burnham & 15 minutes from Weston. Good food proper cooked breakfast nice evening meal served in the conservatory but served on cheap wooden tables it would have been so much nicer if there had been proper white linen tableclothes. Newly refurbished bathroom but no pressure on the shower, the smallest bedroom I have ever slept in not even a decent sized single let alone a double no view from the rear Other members of the party said their bedrooms were small as well. Decent enough hotel otherwise & it is pet friendly.

“Uncomfortable and dirty”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

The drive up to the hotel itself gives you the impression of a vibrant hotel in a beautiful location. Once inside however, I was given the key to what I can only describe as a converted broom cupboard. At first I was alarmed by the door which would have had a glass panel in it, but had since been removed and the back of the door (that is the inside of the room) had been backed with fibre board: I can only assume this is to meet fire regs. The room itself was small and dark with minimal furniture. I was here for business and do require a desk, but the desk was only big enough for my laptop and mouse... nothing else. The bed was uncomfortable, the décor was dingy and altogether quite depressing. I had three nights here and I could not help but notice house-keeping was not up to scratch either: having placed the pamphlets of local information and tea tray on the floor (to use the desk) on day one, that's where everything strayed; additionally I clocked biscuit crumbs on the floor when I first entered and the biscuit crumbs remained on the floor throughout.

On the plus side, the bathroom was fairly new (perhaps 6-12 months old), bright and clean.

I ate hear a couple of times too (different review).

Overall, it was an unpleasant stay and there are far superior options in the area for about th same price.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 12

“Lovely place to stay and good venue for wedding do”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 June 2011

We managed to book the last available room for our friend's wedding do. The hotel did email me straight away to warn me tha there was a wedding there that day - it was fine for us, but appreciated being informed.
The room was a good size with lovely contemporary decoration, plenty of tea/coffee facilities and toiletries. Breakfast was very good, great selection, and hot food was cooked to order.
The evening do was lovely with different parts of the ground floor to sit in, and a large veranda overlooking the countryside. Staff were friendly and helpful.
