Needed somewhere to stop on the way home from a business trip so I thought I'd try Blyth as I knew there was a travelodge there.
I was worried as soon as I got there as there were no nets in the upper windows and they were all open, builders in?
I had to wait over 5 minutes for someone to come and check me in.
Got to the room which can best be described as tired and tatty.
I was so tired from my trip I went to get a meal from the burger king then crashed out.
The mattress was on its last legs, very soft on one side but I slept OK because I was so tired.
The shower was pretty poor, very low flow and all the controls had no discernable effect on the temperature. The creme de la creme of the shower was the woman coming in to do the room while I was drying myself (she did not knock)! On balance I think she was more shocked than me.
So to sum up, check if they've sorted the place out before you stay there.
