My wife and stayed at the Pheasant in Septemberr. The position is beautiful, room was lovely and comfortable, a truly warm welcome and great help from proprietor Robin, outstanding breakfasts and great food overall made it a memorable stay indeed. We highly recommend it to anybody and particularly for those who appreciate real hospitality. We will return.

We spent a lovely two night stay here, last weekend and it really is a jewel in the Northumbrian Landscape. The Pheasant Inn was recommended by Kielder Sports, to whom I was an invited guest of, and I have to say they were right. This is a truely very comfortable, warm, friendly Inn, that has really nice traditional features in the pub. The accomodation is spacious, of high quality warm, comfortable and stacks of hot water with good pressure in the shower. The food is Superb ! Ingredients used are top quality and succulent ! The menu is extensive but not over powering and the atmosphere very relaxed. There is also a good selection of wines, spirits (50 brands of malt whisky !); and of course beer. The Pheasant Inn is in the hamlet of Stannersburn which is on the edge of Kielder Water therefore an Ideal haven for walkers, cyclists and shooters who are in the area.
Robin Kershaw and his staff really do an excellent job and make you feel right at home. If in the area, give it a go !

The Pheasant is a glorious destination after making our way through seemingly empty scenery. Suddenly you come across this perfeclty placed inn set in surrouindings that can make even a good mood better. The rooms are large and welcoming; the pub feels just as it should and has a range of good beers. Dinner was meticulously prepared from great ingredients and the serving staff were attentive. Breakfast was brilliant even if so tempting it was difficult not to eat too much. A place we shall always try to stay when we are headed that way again.
