“staying here made our holiday.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2011

I was impressed how organised Kirsty was in running the Guest House and in particular how friendly and helpful she was. Our room was fab and spacious, we told her when we required breakfast and it was not a problem at all, as most places have a set time, everything was fresh and tasty.

I would definately recommend this guest house. It is clean, very well presented, friendly owners and a great location being only 2/5 minutes walk into the town center/beach/harbour. Kirsty suggested places to go and eat. Also where the golf couse was as it is close.

Cant wait for our next stay as we really enjoyed it from start to finish.

Room Tip: All rooms are clean and tidy

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 April 2010

This was a last minute 2 night trip and we were so lucky Horncliffe had room for us! We stayed in the family room which was clean and bright with its own bathroom, handy for de-sanding the children. Breakfast was delicious, grown-ups had the full english, kids had boiled eggs, scrambled egg and beans, there was also choice of cereal, orange juice and plenty of toast! Definitely well recommended place to stay in Seahouses as the harbour and beach are so near.

“Lovely B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2009

A lovely B & B. The owner was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were very clean and bright. Wonderful breakfast with a great choice. Great location with only minutes walk to the harbour and beach.
Seahouses is a very pleasant place..... you would not go hungry as there are plenty of fish and chip shops. There is a lot happening in the harbour and would recommend the boat trip around the Farne Islands to see the seals, lighthouses and birds. I took the 1 1/2 hour trip on the Shiels Glad Tidings boat. You can take longer trips and land on one of the islands. My husband and step sons were scuba diving with this company who were brilliant and very accommodating.
If you have the time it is a great walk along the beach and then over the dunes to Bamburgh Castle (about 3 miles) The weather was showery, however, it made for some very dramatic views!
Where to eat?..........We ate at the Links Hotel...(opposite the B & B )very nice although they served the main course straight after the starter. OK if you like your meals served quickly. Some of it did seem if it was microwaved.
The Old Ship.... Good pub food.
Little Italy.... next to the Links Hotel (Closed Mondays) Lovely Italian food.... same owner as the Links and again brought you your main course whilst putting you last mouthful of starter in. Excellent starters, plentiful. Step sons had pizzas which looked very good indeed !

“Loved the Horncliffe”

After experiencing a distressing reception from the owners of a nearby B&B ( Fairfield) My family and I went on the hunt to identify an alternative accommodation for the weekend.
We came across Horncliffe where Kirsty, the owner, who was very busy and had made a decision not to have any more guests that evening to allow her the time to straighten her rooms, on hearing our experience suggested that we return in half an hour giving her the necessary time to prepare the bungalow that is attached to the B&B. We were so desperate to leave Fairfield that I even offered to assist in making the beds.

However, on our return Kirsty had beautifully prepared the accommodation and to a very high standard.
As we were visiting the area to Scuba Dive, it was necessary to have an early start, but this was not a problem for Kirsty who offered us a choice of menu and at our preferred time. The breakfast was a perfect start to the day and our activities.

I was impressed how organised Kirsty was in running the B&B and in particular how friendly and helpful she was.

I would definately recommend this guest house. It is clean, very well presented, friendly owners and a great location being only 2 minutes walk into the town center.

“Good clean family B&B”

Stopped at the Horncliffe for a night and fell lucky on an excellent value for money (£25pp) family run B&B. The friendliness of Kirsty was really welcoming and the overall stay left us with nothing at all to complain about.

The room we had was a family room with double, and 2 single beds and an enormous bathroom with bath (no shower). The cleanliness throughout was spot on and the english breakfast we had was good.

Location of the B&B is only a 5 minute walk to the harbour. Seahouses in September, hardly bouncing and a struggle to find a good restaurant (suggested to try The Links or the Olde Ship).

Thanks Kirsty for a good stop over.
