had booked up here for sunday lunch. although we need not have bothered really as there seemed to be plenty of tables left. we were not sure what exactly was on offer for lunch as there were no menus on the table. when the girl came around she held up a black board which showed the meals on offer and while we decided what to order she left the black board draped over a chair. when the meal arrived it looked average and a minute or so later the vegetables arrived in a bowl which was not a large enough portion to serve three people. we had to ask for mustard etc as it was not offered. staff which were quite young and inexperienced but the barmaid at the bar seemed more on the ball and pleasent. could have been a better atmosphere. did not go to the toilets but the people who did go stated that they were small.

checking in was confusing as we had arrived out of bar hours and after ringing the bell had to wait quite a while for a quite unfriendly welcome. The walls had several signs saying what is not allowed. Our room was on the ground floor next to the road whixh was quite noisy although clean. the bathroom was large but i believe the room to catered for those with disabilities. Breakfast had to be chosen the night before and an exact time given to what time you would eat although only two other couples where staying. Overall we wished we had paid the extra and stayed down the road

Stayed as part of a golfing party. Rooms small but clean and functional. Bathroom was very tiny indeed but again, well maintained and clean. Breakfast decent and well presented. All in all you get what you pay for. It wasn't expensive but provided decent VFM. Good central location but have previously used Beach House Hotel in Seahouses and whilst it's a bit further out, has sea views which are worth the walk

The Links Hotel and Restaurant was recommended to us by our B&B (Gun Rock, which was absolutely outstanding itself), and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and portions large, service was excellent and enthusiatic, and the prices were fairly reasonable. My husband is a vegetarian and it provided a great selection of veggie options (not just the standard vegetable lasagna that is served at most places). I really enjoyed both fish dishes I had: they were filling and flavourful. We ended up going back twice during our stay in Seahouses, and it was our favourite place to eat during our holiday.
