“great stay”

we stayed here in june 2011. what a lovely spot - friendly helpful hosts. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit and served in the dining room adjacent to the kitchen - a friendly, homely situation. Other guests were chatty and relaxed as well -indicative of the general warm and relaxed tone. Northumberland is a wonderful area to visit. So many natural highlights - unspoilt beaches and the wonderful Farne islands and lots of great unspoilt human history as well!
Thankyou for a lovely stay and i hope we will get back there one day.

“Lovely B&B”

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Olde School House in November, and what a lovely find it was. We had a spacious room, airy and bright. Lovely en-suite, both rooms were immaculate. It's a very relaxed place, Joan and Andrew are such friendly people, and provide the most amazing breakfasts! Fills you up for the whole day. In a quiet location but an easy 10 minute walk takes you into Seahouses and the beaches. Lots to see in the area, our favourite was The Alnwick garden.

“Great accomodation and host”

Within comfortable walking distance of Seahouses which is the place to take trips to the Farme islands. Just down the road from Holy Island, Dunstanburgh Castle and Bamburgh Castle. All are "must sees"! The Olde School House had great accomodation and a really good breakfast. Craster is just down the road with its famous smoked kippers - to buy or eat in (book!). We were only there for two nights, but there's enough to do for a week. Would go back.

“The most relaxed and friendly B&B ever.”

We (2 adults, 12 year old child and small dog) stayed at the Olde School House for three nights whilst exploring the Northumberland coast. It is in a great location with many of the best parts of the coast withing 40 mins drive. Joan and Andrew are the most easy going B&B owners I have come across. The atmosphere of the place is best summed up by saying that there is not one notice (that I could find anyway) that says "Would guests please refrain from........" - so common in B&Bs. There are nice touches like a fridge for guests and we always left breakfast with a sausage for the dog.
We took a trip round the Farne Islands on Andrew's boat which was a real treat - lots of Puffins, Guillimots, Seals and much more which he gets you very close to.
