I generally try to stay in family-run B&B's on leisure trips rather than hotels because they are more friendly, cheaper and have better breakfasts. I have been fairly often to the Morpeth area Northumberland over the last ten years and try to stay here in preference to the many other good B&B's in the area. Never had a bad stay and must have been there twenty times. Julie's breakfasts are excellent. Robson serves them up with good humour and banter and has lived on farms locally all his life so has great knowledge of the area. Breakfast is served in a room that is available as a lounge with sky tv for guests in evening. These are only 2 frooms or B&B guests in the house -a double and a twin both with en suite shower. There is a cottage nearby with 3 bedrooms that is self catering but I have not rented it. The Ridley Arms in nearby Stannington serves very good food -- try the starters and puds- that offers great value for money in my view. It has been awarded 5 stars by B&B rating agency and in my opinion deserves them.

We stayed in a twin room which was spacious, clean and comfortable.Despite being close to the A1 the farm was nice and quiet.Robson and Julie were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very nice. We would definately recommend this Farm House and stay there again.

An all round GREAT experience. Wonderful hospitality, lovely rooms, great breakfast and excellent value for money. Good pubs locally and not too far into Newcastle.

My wife and I only stayed the one night but found the farmhouse an excellent place to stay. It certainly lives up to it's 5 star ratings !
It's close enough to the A1 for driving to Morpeth or further afield in Northumberland but quiet enough to feel as if it's in the middle of the countryside.
There's also an excellent pub about a mile (Ridley Arms) away where we had dinner.
The twin room was spacious and clean and lovely to get fresh milk and biscuits on arrival.
The breakfast was delicious, especially the home grown tomatoes and farm honey.
Robson and Julie are very welcoming and it really is a lovely place to stay. Don't stay in the Travelodge down the road when this place is so much better !
