“Nightmare”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

travelling away with partner for business, we had the chance to stay in morpeth lovely old town, but what a foul hotel, parking the car in the car park should have made us run, but this hotel was next door to the business my partner was working in for the day, so we checked in on a very cold sunday evening upstairs to a really dirty smelly reception ive never seen such a sorry looking area in all my life, the chandelier was only held together with the dirt and grime, the carpets and window were covered in muck, the bedroom was so dated and the bathroom was just awful with mould around the bath sink and the loo was yuk. got through the night to enter the breakfast room, what a laugh that was ,only the two of us, but still forgot our tea! left the food and just checked out. such a shame because walking around the town it really does need a hotel, and this excuse for one is so sad that the owners have left it to fall apart, but still no excuse for dirt! buck up or ship out thats what i think.

Room Tip: travel to another town

“Nightmare on Bridge Street”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

This is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Take my advice and sleep in the street - it will be quieter, warmer and cleaner!!!!
It is impossible to sleep due to the noixe until the early hours. The rooms are just awful - I cannot understand anyone who says a room in this hotel is nice. I cannot comment on the shower or bath because I couldnt bring myself to wash in the place. The breakfast was pretty nasty too, so no redemption there.
If I could give a score worse than terrible I really would!

“adequate for staying over for a night”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We arrived and asked if they had a double room available , the lady offered us a twin roon as she had alrady cancled the cleaner - it seemed like we were a bit of an inconveniance. We did get a double room in the end which was quite nice inside - we went out until late in the evening so it was only a place to crash. The breakfast offered was continental - not the fully cooked breakfast that was advertised as the chef had also been instructed not to go in. There was no discount offered for this.
The best thing about the experiance is that in the morning we were looked after by a retired man called Brian who was very nice and offered helpful advice about where to go and what to see. No rush to check out ... good location for drinks and resturants.

“AVOID !!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

They deduct £10 from your account, which is non-refundable, or else I would have rebooked elsewhere. The hotel is filthy, and in desperate need of closure or a makeover. I was kept awake until 2.30am by a nightclub attached to the hotel, and there was no mention of this in the e-mail. They try to excuse themselves by saying it's on their web-page. I checked this , and it's right at the very foot of the page, where they hope you will overlook it. Breakfast was fairly hideous, and the milk & butter tasted like they had gone off. The shower is hot, but a trickle. The bed was comfortable. Staff are friendly, and happy to take your money.

Don't make the mistake I did : stay elsewhere !
