I stayed 3 nights in the Harris room which is for one person with en-suite shower room.Spotlessly clean,comfortable,very quite & well equiped with tea/coffee making facility,Freeview TV.Window view ,through the trees of river & coast, , with Farne Island lighthouse shining at night.This room is up 3/4 flights of stairs but if you are fit it is not a problem., also restricted headroom if you are taller than average, or larger body than normal for the shower room.Lovely breakfasts with good choices,well cooked & presented.Nothing too much trouble.I hope to return again.

What a wonderful experience, from the minute we walked in the door to the time we reluctantly gave back our key. Derek and Jessie are just perfect, really interested in you and how your day has been, and to get your day off to a great start the breakfast is fantastic. We really tested Jessie on her eggs, poor thing, never the same eggs twice and always cooked to perfection as was all the breakfast, the sausages and bacon are fabulous. Our room was beautiful, what a really comfy bed, just what you needed after an hectic day. Bathroom was just the right size with lots and lots of hot water instantly and the shower more than efficient with plenty of space to move about. In addition to all of the above the room was spotlessly clean and with lots of little touches, plenty of tea, coffee, chocolate and really scrummy biscuits which were lovely and the little sweets were also nice. Cant' wait to fit in another visit in the new year. Well Done Derek and Jessie

This has been our third stay at 40 Ravensdowne and it is still as good as our first. Jessie and derek are wonderfully welcoming and there is nothing too much trouble for them. Lovely rooms with lots of little "extras", superb en suite, huge satisfying breakfast! The house is well situated for everything and in easy reach of the station if you are taking the train. Stayed for two nights in the Stewart room in September. The room was clean and well appointed en-suite was nice and clean. The welcome was excellent very helpful with best places to go for meals etc. Breakfast was good and served in a very friendly manner nothing to much trouble. The location is town centre but you won't notice the area is very quiet. Easy to go sight-seeing around the town.
