Having just returned from three days at potadoodledo I am genuinely shocked this hasn't been given five stars by all other reviewers!
Booked a short stay after hearing about wigwam holidays from a friend and came across potadoodledo on the wigwamholidays.com site. I just thought the idea of spending time in a wooden wigwam would be fun! As did my ten year old son! So we booked two nights.
We found the site easily, we found the instructions and help from staff on arrival was great and when we got into the wigwam we were delighted! It was spacious and clean, with a spotless fridge in the wigwam, power points, electric lights and a heater. The electric meter had credit from the previous guests and the £1.56 didn't need topped up after three days! In fact it had more than a pound on it when we left! I was genuinely pleased with the good value of this.
While there we used the showers, bathroom and cooking facilities. For a 'camping barn' I thought the facilities were very clean and the kitchen very well kitted out. There were plentiful amounts of crockery, pots, pans, two microwaves, cooker, kettles etc etc. As there web site states you need to take washing up items (incl tea towels) and the majority had read these instructions! Everyone seemed to respect the facilities.
The grounds were very well kept and lots of space for the kids to safely explore. There is a play area with swings on site, the art barn (which we didn't use... Only as my son was too busy with other things) and also the opportunity for quad biking. My son went out on the quads and had a fantastic time, thought the teacher was great and came back very proud of himself!
The farm is a working farm and this enhances the trip, it doesn't compromise it. Great to show my son some basics of farm life, and to be able to explain in real terms where food comes from.
My only regret was not booking a fire for our arrival. This is an option and when I saw other people sitting around their fires I wish I had done so. Also there is the option to hire a BBQ hut, which for big groups or bad weather looked fab.
All in all a fab trip, and The longest I've ever written. I couldn't rate this experience more highly!
Oh, and if your interested it rained for 24 hours while we were there and it didn't matter a bit, we had packed wellies and raincoats... It is England in august after all!
