“Check in is a Loud nasty expensive amusement arcade”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Despite pleasant surroundings and a reasonably nice caravan, everything is spoilt because you have to walk through a horrendous loud, nasty, common amusement arcade to get anywhere. Young children are targeted, because they will see all this and ask to have a go on this that & the other all costing several pounds. Not quite the childrens' activities one wants. Huge costs could mount up!

Room Tip: Ask about if you can check in without having to walk through a huge, loud, nasty amusement arcade...

“Big Improvement, but still work to do !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Stayed here september in a prestige caravan. It was ok but not as new as we were lead to believe, the interior was worn and the carpet needed a good scrub.
We did not realise that you had to be up at the crack of dawn to book any of the activities.Even then you have got to plan your day round the slot your allocated.
The take away area required some one to keep on top of it as there were bins overflowing with rubbish and no one clearing or CLEANING the tables outside Burger King, hence there was bits of half eaten food all over the floor,Not what you want to see when you are heading there for something to eat.
On a more positive note ,the dining area has been refurbished to a decent standard, food was good although with the menus you don't have to look at what food is available you can actually taste whats available as the menus are covered with left overs from previous diners.
The swimming pool was good ,clean changing rooms etc and a nice upgraded seating area outside where parents can watch their kids.
There is a large decking area with some nice garden furniture out there, which is nice to sit out on if the weather is ok.
The club has been refurbished to a good standard, but does not seem to be big enough to cope with the amount of people that use it.You have to be there early if you want a seat, but once the bingo is finished there are usually some people that leave so you can possibly get a table then.
There are parts of the camp still stuck in a time warp but hopefully they shall keep splashing the cash and invest in not only upgrading but keeping on top of what has been refurbished,as make no mistake about it this camp is frequented by a wide range of persons, some who treat their surroundings with little respect.
We were checked in quickly, and any of the staff that we had dealings with were helpful and accommidating.
Overall we enjoyed our long weekend there an would return ,now that we have sussed out how it works now.

Room Tip: Its the luck of the draw for how good your accommidation is as we booked prestige but wasn't up...

“Ive always loved this place!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Ive been coming to Haggerston since i was young...I love it!! I was last here 2 years ago with a group of friends, wasnt the same as when i was young but we still had a great time!!

I would definatly say upgrading to a luxury caravan is worth it. You get everything you could need, clean and fresh bedding, tv, cooker, microwave etc. We did get a caravan a couple of years ago that was not to the standard we were expecting for what we paid, however when we complained, they give us an upgrade immediatly!!

The caravan site itself is beautiful. Swans and ducks just roaming around peacfully. Nice lake in the middle where you can hire boats etc.

There is always something to do, From chilling in the Sports bar, to hiring bikes or boats, golf, quad bikes etc. Berwick is also just a short bus ride away.

Main Complex - always clean, amusements right at the entrance so it is a bit of a temptation to waste money but your on holiday at the end of the day. Theres a gift shop inside, burger king, fish and chip shop and a papa johns, carnaby lounge where the main shows are held throughout the day for the kids, the sports bar where there are pool tables and usually have the tv on, and the night time bar where all the evening entertainment is held! The entertainment shows are always really busy so it is advised that you go early to get a seat!
There is a shop that sells groceries, booze, gifts etc on site too,

The staff are always very welcoming and always walk around with smiles on their faces. Even when they are not doing shows and you see them walking around complex they always have time to talk to you. They work so hard all day, everyday but nothin is still too much for them.

It can be a bit expensive....

I would definatly recommend this park, your kids will have a fab time!

Room Tip: Upgrading to a luxury caravan is definatly worth it.

Lovely little break - upgraded to luxury plus caravan - clean tidy and bedding fresh and clean, loved the fact of looking out the window to rabbits ducks squirrels ect... Entertainment was ok nothing special, usual singers ext.. Place was packed everynight but still managed to get a seat. Arcade was good lots of machines. Burger king fish and chips and papa johns all open late. Pool area was clean but basic, haven Thorpe park had a better pool. Boating lake looked dirty and I diddnt want to take my children on. New mash and barel pub clean, outdoor play area mainly for older kids and dissapointed there was no indoor softplay like Thorpe park had. My 2 year old loved it here and so did we, we bought a gazebo and put it up next to our caravan so even when it rained we all had BBQ outside, many other activities we diddnt do looked fun, to much to do in one weekend - go and have a fun time with the kids
